Inspired Nail Art

Hey guys, this is going to be a short post, I've been swimming in work and haven't slept in 2 days, I'm at that stage of sleepless-ness where I start believing I'm some kind of flying hippo or that the voices in my head want me to eat a bottle of ketchup.

Anyway, yesterday, in my free time I was going through an awesome and popular nail art blog called Cosmetic Cupcake and I found some great designs, so I decided to try one of them.
This is the original design here.

And this is what I did.

I realise mine isn't as finished, I didn't have the same tools and my cuticles look like I've been sifting sand everyday in the past week but I think I did good. :D

Here's what I used:

I used Elle 18 nail pops "26" on my thumb and ring finger. Colorama black polish on my index and pinky fingers. VOV knock-off white on my middle finger.
I used the center design from M36 Konad plate over the white, with Colorama Roxo Metalico put a few silver dots with NYX's nail art polish and put white dots with a nail art pen.
On my ring finger I used Jordana pop art striper polish in The Painter (pink sparkles) all over the nail.
And the last step I used Faces Sparkles polish over all my nails.

Hope you liked my attempt *cough* jugaad *cough*. :)

I went shopping :)

After a long time today, I ventured out into the open world, took a deep breath of fresh air, looked up into the sun (OMG! It BURNS!! asjakfkdjaldjlk!!!) and went shopping! :D
My boyfriend still had to buy me an anniversary present so he tagged along as well.. We went to Phoenix Mills. I didn't buy a lot of stuff but here we go.

I went into Accessorize, they still have a 70% off sale and somehow, I always want to buy stuff there but decide not to. Even during sales. @_@ So this time the bf told me that I HAD to buy something because he's sick of all the looking. Lol! So I bought a bag that really caught my attention and a bunch of stickers.. Because I'm really just a 22 year old with the mental age of 5.

Tweed bag (original price: Rs.3545, discounted price: Rs.1050)

Is it weird I usually like cloth bags? Even my clutches be cloth. -__-
I still have my innocence. C: I was spazzing at the left ones because they're 3d. lol!

Then, we went to Lifestyle because I had to pick up a compact. Mine is dead. So, off to the Maybelline counter... Where else? I got the new ClearGlow compact and what I really loved is that it matches my skin EXACTLY! I have never found such an exact match. I got Sand Beige, which is a very neutral shade. They have 5 shades I believe, they're all much much lighter than what normal Indian skin is like though. :(. I love how butter soft the powder feels though! I've also noticed Maybelline has improved their packaging a lot, even changed some.
Kayoot packaging!

Also pictured: Sister's sociology notes

Oh, and I bought my sister the Express Finish 40 second top coat they have, because wait any longer than that and her nails WILL be smudged. -__-

And then dundundundunduuun

DAH!!!!
My first pumps! *sniffs*
I was actually scared I wouldn't be able to walk in these because I don't usually wear such tall heels, especially not stilettos! But I managed! LIKE A BOSS! And they were mine. :) You can find them here! They also had a pretty heavy discount!
And yes, they do kill my feet a bit...
And yes, I can't walk Mumbai pavements in them.. I'll die and they're better than that.
And yes, you are going to be subjected to more shoe pics. :)

Ok, that's it.
I love sales. <3
Bye guys!

First Flakie Nail Polish! Review and Cosmetix.in Experience

So here's the thing, I'd been watching bloggers all over the world raving about flakie polishes and I adore the way they look! Problem is, I haven't seen one flakie polish in stores.. Not ONE! And if there are any out there, I swear, there's a conspiracy to keep them away from me.

I felt like my nail art stash is missing something. Like I'd been left out of a playground game by all the mean kids. *flashback sobs*
Yes, this is relevant.
Then a few days ago I was going through a shopping site I hadn't used before called Cosmetix.in, I decided to investigate and ended up in the nail polish category. There under NYX I found a polish called "Purple Ave." I don't trust site swatches so I googled it and (cue: Handel's Hallelujah) it was a FLAKIE!! *happy tears*

Obviously, I bought it. It was Rs. 210 after discount. Along with Maybelline's Hyper Curl mascara and a purple eye pencil. Guess how fast  shipping was....
Think: Speed of light... Ok, lets be fair.. Speed of sound, if it didn't work weekends! Yes, FAST!
I ordered on Sunday, it was shipped on Monday and got to me at 11am Tuesday.

Amazing!

Only there was a problem... Instead of sending me "39 Purple Ave," I was sent "139 Paradise." That's that guy down there... *SOBS*
Who knew a polish could make you cry?

So, I sent them an email telling them what had happened and I got an instant reply! How cool is that?? They told me that they would send me Purple Ave and that I could keep Paradise too! SCORE!! No, but seriously, how nice is that?  Because 23 hours later at 10:30 am, Tuesday, I got my Purple Ave! And here it is.
Happiness IS at the bottom of a bottle!

I don't know why it's called Purple, because the flakes are actually more blue-green. But I love the glowy hypnotic look of it. @-@
Apparently, there are more in this series, like Pink, Peach and Blue Ave. According to many reviews, the older versions of these were not very good and the flakes were too big and hard to get out of the bottle. BUT the new formula is awesome! Very concentrated flakes and fast drying! In fact, I've already ordered Pink Ave from Urbantouch! They also have Peach Ave. ^u^ (Cosmetix has it for cheaper though. -__-)

So here is what it looks like:
One coat over black

2 coats taken in the sun. Love the blue- green iridiscence

Tried some stickers I bought. Me no gusta. :(

Hope you enjoyed my review. I'll definitely be buying from Cosmetix again, although I do wish they would add more products! And this polish is going to be treasured like an only child, till Pink Ave gets here.
Yes, I ramble a lot! Kekekeke! No, I'm not sorry. .__.

EDIT: I have noticed, that after a day, it actually starts being more purple than blue-green... Weird, eh?

Review: Maybelline ClearGlow B.B. Cream

I think I've used this cream enough to give my opinion on it. I was so excited when they announce this I went and bought it the day it was released! Lol!

Maybelline calls it Clear Glow BB 8-in-1 Skin Transformer (aka most big-ass name for a cream I've ever heard.) It's a 18ml tube retailing for around Rs.199. You can get it cheaper at some online stores. ^-^
You know you want me!

It comes in 3 tones rather than shades according to me. Radiance is slightly pink, Natural more towards yellow and Nude is kinda neutral. I picked up Nude (because of which I had to hear stupid jokes from boyriend *hahahaha nude! Hahaha... no.*)
Size of the tube

So here's what I'm gonna do; the cream has its properties mentioned on the tube, I'm going to cross off the things it actually does. :D Woohoo!

  • Brightens- Definitely!
  • Evens tone- Yes! Redness, light freckles and spots. Don't know about full fledged pimples though. :/
  • Protects- It has sunscreen so I guess yes!
  • Hydrates- Sometimes if my skin is *too* dry I do need extra moisturiser so 50-50 on this one.
  • Freshens- I don't know what this means! T^T
  • Smoothens- Yes, skin does feel smoother!
  • Clarifies- I can't say really. BUT it did not break me out either so that is a plus! :D
  • Conceals- No serious blemishes. So I cannot speak for how well it can cover those.
I have used this as concealer under my eyes, what I do is, put a thin layer all over and cover the horror bits with some extra.

Personally, I am in love with this cream! It has a slight dewy finish so I use powder on top but I don't mind. My foundations have all been downsized because of this thing. It is my go-to base now. What am going to do with you, foundation? D:

Ok, the BB is on the right, you can see how it evened out the veins and tones. I cropped the pic 'cause it looked like I was making gang signs lol! That ain't cute XD

I've noticed it gives me good coverage, although considering the type of skin I have, I don't need a lot of coverage, so for problem skin it may just be sheer- medium coverage. I find it a blessing because it's light, unlike foundation, gives me good cover, has SPF and really makes my skin look like it has had a good night's sleep... Which it hasn't because I sleep 4 hours a day. -__-

In the end like every product it will either work for you or it won't. For me it worked like a charm. If you do try it a word of caution, it WILL look WHITE for the first 2 minutes that you apply it buts slowly set to your tone, so don't panic!

Wearing only Maybelline lol! BB cream, Colossal Kajal and Coral Pink lipstick :D

Keep calm and trust BB. ;)

Sorry for being gone so long! Here's a haul and some "Konadicures!"

Ohmigod! I am so sorry for being MIA so long! I've been so swarmed with stuff that the blog was just forgotten for awhile, I've been working freelance and picked up an art teacher job and I'm *trying* to learn Korean, so I've been pretty lost to the world. I've been meaning to update for a long time now but I guess I didn't get much of a chance. The storage in my HD is at an all time low due to a backlog of images! CURSE YOU BACKLOG!!!

You guys must have been pissed at my lack of updates, I'm really sorry! So, this post is my peace-offering to you. I hope you like it! I have so many posts to do! A tutorial, hauls and so many reviews! Guahhh! So expect a post every *cough other cough* day!

So here's some stuff I got from Urban Touch recently, well duh, where else would I get it? At the store? Pfftt... Nope, Urbantouch is still number one on the list of, "Places my money disappears every month."

Smallest haul ever! Self-control? I can haz!
 So here's what I got!
Maybelline Colorama "Coral Chic" nail polish: I've wanted this shade for the longest time and it is ALWAYS out of stock! It's like a rare wild Pokemon.. And this time I used my masterball muahahaha! (Please look up the reference, I'm a dork that way..) This shade turned out to be very sheer, I was a bit surprised. But then, it lasted for 5 days on my nails without chipping! *shocked*

Maybelline Moisture Extreme Colorsensational lipstick in "Coral Pink": I love this bright happy pink! It's not quite coral, more pink and I've heard that it didn't suit some skin types but it looks great for me! It looks dark in the image. -__-

Konad Image Plate in *puts glasses on* M60: Another wild Pokemon kekekeke... My favourite patterns!

Vaadi Herbals Facial Bar: Yeah, I know.. This is one of those things that are so obscure that all you can do is tilt your head and think,"WTF??" I can explain. I was sent this soap as a free with purchase, I did the whole WTF routine but then I decided to use it and WOW! This thing is amazing! It lasts forever and leaves your skin clean but not dry. I use it everyday before I sleep and put on my moisturiser. It gives you a great glow and it even made my sister's pimply and blemish marked complexion soOoOo much clearer that I just had to buy it again!

I was also sent a free sample of VLCC's Daily Protect Anti-Pollution lotion. :/ I guess I'll try it!

Free sample: I love it but it makes me feel like a lab rat! .__.

Now on to the konadicures.. These are both done with the plate I showed you guys above. My nails are finally growing back better but I have immensely dry cuticles. Ok, from this point no talking because I've blabbed enough up there. ^

I loved the colours. :)

Used: Colorbar Amethyst for stamping, Maybelline Coral Chic for the base and Konad top coat

Konadicure 2, my fav pattern, argyle:

Used: Colorbar (I am loving this) polish in Exclusive, Konad Black pearl stamping polish and Konad top coat
So, that's it for today! I can't wait to get my blog going again! So, keep a look out for more posts! Bye guys!
