Review: Maybelline ClearGlow B.B. Cream

I think I've used this cream enough to give my opinion on it. I was so excited when they announce this I went and bought it the day it was released! Lol!

Maybelline calls it Clear Glow BB 8-in-1 Skin Transformer (aka most big-ass name for a cream I've ever heard.) It's a 18ml tube retailing for around Rs.199. You can get it cheaper at some online stores. ^-^
You know you want me!

It comes in 3 tones rather than shades according to me. Radiance is slightly pink, Natural more towards yellow and Nude is kinda neutral. I picked up Nude (because of which I had to hear stupid jokes from boyriend *hahahaha nude! Hahaha... no.*)
Size of the tube

So here's what I'm gonna do; the cream has its properties mentioned on the tube, I'm going to cross off the things it actually does. :D Woohoo!

  • Brightens- Definitely!
  • Evens tone- Yes! Redness, light freckles and spots. Don't know about full fledged pimples though. :/
  • Protects- It has sunscreen so I guess yes!
  • Hydrates- Sometimes if my skin is *too* dry I do need extra moisturiser so 50-50 on this one.
  • Freshens- I don't know what this means! T^T
  • Smoothens- Yes, skin does feel smoother!
  • Clarifies- I can't say really. BUT it did not break me out either so that is a plus! :D
  • Conceals- No serious blemishes. So I cannot speak for how well it can cover those.
I have used this as concealer under my eyes, what I do is, put a thin layer all over and cover the horror bits with some extra.

Personally, I am in love with this cream! It has a slight dewy finish so I use powder on top but I don't mind. My foundations have all been downsized because of this thing. It is my go-to base now. What am going to do with you, foundation? D:

Ok, the BB is on the right, you can see how it evened out the veins and tones. I cropped the pic 'cause it looked like I was making gang signs lol! That ain't cute XD

I've noticed it gives me good coverage, although considering the type of skin I have, I don't need a lot of coverage, so for problem skin it may just be sheer- medium coverage. I find it a blessing because it's light, unlike foundation, gives me good cover, has SPF and really makes my skin look like it has had a good night's sleep... Which it hasn't because I sleep 4 hours a day. -__-

In the end like every product it will either work for you or it won't. For me it worked like a charm. If you do try it a word of caution, it WILL look WHITE for the first 2 minutes that you apply it buts slowly set to your tone, so don't panic!

Wearing only Maybelline lol! BB cream, Colossal Kajal and Coral Pink lipstick :D

Keep calm and trust BB. ;)
