Good morning all!
No, this is not a new feature! LOL! I usually never wake up early enough to do a morning feature.. I just haven't slept yet. @_@ And I got bored of drawing so I decided to do this review.
So, today I'm reviewing two velvet matte lipsticks that I recently got acquainted to, they're fairly popular and I'm wondering why it took me so long to buy one! -__- Slow as always!
The shades I'm reviewing are "Bare" and "Peach Crush" (my personal fave!)
Price: The lipsticks will cost you 250 INR a pop and 225 on some websites. You pay for 4.2g of product, which is a really good price in my opinion, especially for the quality!
Packaging: The packaging isn't the best but isn't awful either. The lipstick tube is silver and metallic, whereas the cap is transparent plastic. I feel like the plastic looks a bit cheap and scratches way too easily!
What I find really amusing is that they've made the base the same colour as the lippie, like you see on NYX round lipsticks BUT (huge BUT LOL!) they've put a name sticker over the base! So, you can't see the colour from the the top anyway! LOL! Not much foresight, eh Colorbar? To add to that, since the cap is transparent, you can see the lipstick itself anyway! -_____- I shall say no more..
Quality: The quality of these lippies is amazing! They go on matte with a subtle sheen and stay put through meals, especially the Peach Crush! I've had risotto with Peach Crush on and it barely faded! They can on the other hand make your lips a bit dry but I find wearing lipbalm underneath helps. Although, don't wear too much, you'll turn a matte lipstick into a gloss! >.<
Swatches:
Bare:
Bare is the "MLBB" shade for me! You can't really tell I'm wearing it except my lip colour looks more even. Aptly named I say! It's a nude with a slight pink and mauve tone. I think it will suit most skin types. ^-^
(Excuse my horribly dry lips!)
Peach Crush:
Peach Crush is a vermillion red with pink in it! It looks amazing! I love that it is matte, somehow, this colour in glossy finish would have been over the top! It has great staying power! Definitely a must buy if you're brave enough!
It's actually much brighter than my pictures. :)
Overall: If these shades aren't your cup of tea, the Velvet Matte range has many more to offer! But definitely pick up at least one of these, the texture is lovely, albeit a bit drying and the beautiful colours definitely make up for the not so good packaging! I'm thinking of picking up Thrilling Pink and Obsessed Orange next! Although orange may not really suit me.. LOL! What you waiting for? GO GO GO! :D
Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
Have you tried the Velvet Matte lipsticks? Which colours do you love?
Thanks or stopping by! Have a great Sunday! ♥
