Tiny Pretty Things: Castledew Pearl Up Eyes Eyeshadows Review (Image Heavy)

As promised on my Facebook page I have the review of the Castledew single shadows. They're from The Pearl Up Single Eyeshadow range, two of them are called "Extreme Pearl" and are extra shimmery.

Castledew is a Korean brand under VOV and not available in India, so when I found these and other goodies right in the city, I was over the moon! 

I actually contemplated them being fake and picked up only two at first but after researching them online like a woman possessed, I found they were the REAL THING! 

The next day: Goes back and buys EVERYTHING. (Well almost, still have to try the lipsticks and glosses.)

Anyway, on to my review! Lol!

Price:

Living in Mumbai you can find them at Beauty Center for Rs. 75. But they're selling out quick! (Well, at that price they should be! Lol!)

On Korea Depart they have a few colours, it was the cheapest option I found, for 5-6$.

On Ebay they can be found for any price between 8-15$! *cough* rip-off *cough*

Packaging:

The packaging is veryy well thought out. The outer cardboard box is purple with holographic designs and letters, they're basically really pretty and hypnotic so you are compelled to buy them! >.<

It has cut-outs for both back and front to see the colour and read the number and name at the back. 

The inside is really pretty too! Shaped like little jewels and with more holographic goodness when you open them! The powder too has a diamond pattern. ^_^

Smell and Texture:

The shadows have no smell and the texture is absolutely buttery except for the two extreme shadows which although soft are gritty due to chunky glitter.

Colours:

I have five of them and although they have numbers, I practiced my Korean by reading them out loud in the store and sounding like a chimp evolving to use human languages. -__-

I did figure out the names though! Lol! And brushed up on my non-existent Korean skills. XD

9456: Ocean Sky Blue

From the Extreme Pearl Up Eyes, a great aqua colour with loads of shimmer and slightly multi dimensional. The photo doesn't do the shimmer justice. I found that it made a great dupe for MAC's Divine Blue. ^_^

VL330: Midnight Violet:

Even though it's called Midnight Violet, this is a pale purple colour and looks very feminine. i was thinking it would be more of a Goth colour but nope! Still love it though. :)

9634: Pink Bear? Veil? ( It says 핑크 베일.. Veil might make more sense. -__-)

This colour is one of those you think looks really plain but turns out to be amazing in that subtle pretty way! Love this for retro looks and is really satin like in texture. Again, reminds me of MAC Ready to Party.. I just saw these colours at the store and realised how I don't need them because I have dupes. Lol! Thought you'd like to know. ;)

9149: Coral Peach

A fave of mine, great for parties and everyday looks. It's a pinky orange which switches to gold in different lights. I didn't expect that from something that looks so flat in the case!

E9209: Deep Brown

Another fave! Looks much darker in person and has a matte finish. Great for a smokey look. It leans warm and doesn't look muddy or patchy when applied. 

This look was done with just the deep brown, a black pencil and a highlight.

Performance:

These colours are all so amazing and last for a good long time of 5 hours without primer on my oily lids. Though, the brown lasts much longer! I am itching to get more of these but I have so many eyeshadows right now, that I'll stick to daydreaming about them! 

Even though I got them cheap, they do have a more expensive price tag. Truthfully, I would be willing to pay 5-6$ (Rs.200-300 approx.) for these. Their quality is comparable to brands like NYX and some colours especially are worth it!

Last Haul(s) for May

Ugh.. My name is Nisha and I'm a cosmetoholic.. Sigh.. Seriously guys, I have a problem. ;A;
I realised, all the stuff I got just in the last week amounts to so much that most women would probably consider having JUST that much a normal amount of makeup.. But then I guess I spend my money so you don't have to spend yours! LOL! Not a good save.. >_<

First, I went to Beauty Center, I went alone and went a little crazy, I think if I had some voice of reason along with me, my wallet would have been happier.. I had actually gone just to pick up stuff for my giveaway. Argh!

• Jordana Extra Garlic Basecoat- My nails have been yellowing due to a lack of base coat, so I picked this up. No, it doesn't smell of garlic.. LOL! Can you imagine that?
• NYX Girls Polish "Frizz Spots"- I love this shade! It's holo hex and small glitters in a black jelly base. HOW I CAN SAY NO? ;A;
• Colorbar Exclusive polish (white)- I needed a GOOD white nail polish, all the ones I get seem to have the smell and consistency of pen corrector white ink.  -__-
• Faces Stackable Pigments "Frolic"- Total impluse buy, I just wanted to try pigments. *sigh* At least they're good! I used these here and here.
• VOV pigment "shimmery black?"- Also on impluse! It was 75 Rupees ok? You say no. :P
• NYX Cream Blush "Natural"- I just happened to love the way this blended and looked. :D
• NYX long eye pencil "Blue"- This was a free gift at the NYX counter. :)

Btw, Beauty Center has The NYX Extreme Lipcreams for just 380! Can you believe that? I wonder why the Matte Lip creams were 600?? I didn't buy any though.. I'm surprised I didn't buy any lipstick this time! LOL!

Then I went to this other place, I forget the name.. i think it's called Beauty Forever? It's a shop on Pali Market road, if anyone knows the name please tell me. I forgot kekeke... 

They have China Glaze polishes and they sell them for at least 100-150 Rs less than what you see on sites. :D

• Vega eyeshadow blender brush and blush brush- I actually planned to get brushes from The Body hop but with all the spending I had been doing I decided to stick with these. As you know I have a total of 3 brushes, these two make it five. :D I'm glad I got these, they seem to be pretty damn good!
• China Glaze polish "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini"- I loved this colour! At first sight, I fell for it while it was searing its image into my retinas! I used it already for this Monday manicure.
• HipHop nail polish remover pads- I picked them up out of curiosity. I love that they give tweezers with them. :D

This was just some stuff I bought online, I got the Nivea Refreshing Cleansing Milk for makeup removal, the one I had before was barely half empty but I had to throw it away because it had crossed the expiry date. :(
I wanted to get Colorbar's Peachy Rose blush asap, I think they will be discontinued soon, I didn't see any at Beauty Center. :( Just some VERY expensive lip pencils!
The Bourjois Ombre Stretch Eyeshadow I picked up because I really wanted a blue like that. So pretty! I was surprised by the size though, it always looks so big in pictures! LOL!

My best friend was sweet enough to buy me this Maybelline stuff from the USA. I had asked her for The Dream Bouncy Blush in Coral Candy and Baby Lips lipbalm in Cherry Me! I can't wait to review these! :D

I walked into The Body Shop a few days ago with le boyfriend. I wasn't going to pick up anything but I was pretty impressed by this Oil Free Balancing Foundation. I got it in 05. I got my exact shade thanks to the boyfriend, otherwise I would have walked out with a 04 (too light) or a 06 (too orange).. Even the SA was a guy and he said 05. LOL! Men are good at this! What really throws me off personally is yellow lighting!

WHY DO MAKEUP STORES HAVE YELLOW LIGHTING?? It defeats the purpose of getting the right shade of anything! Grrrr.. *grits teeth* At least I got this right. -__-

Anyway, so that was my haul post! Tell me i you've tried any of these products, are there any you want to try? Does yellow lighting make you angry too?? LOL! Tell me I'm not the only one please! :D

Two packages in one one day

Hey guys, I'm sorry I haven't been updating these past few days, I've been busy with some new work that has come my way. Hopefully this post will make up for it. :)
Yesterday I got two packages that I had ordered and I went out too, so I bought some make-up then. My two packages were from Porkdaisy.com and lensstreet.com!

Lensstreet:

I got a big bottle of Biotrue lens solution and cute hippo and pig lens cases from them. The shipping was super fast! There was a problem initially with my phone number, I had given them the wrong one so they couldn't contact me. Due to that, my order was on hold for 2 days, then I called them to inquire, made the corrections and my order was on its way! Shipping was super fast! It was at my door the next afternoon. :D

Porkdaisy:
 I was so excited about the porkdaisy package! It was my first time buying from them and I think I'll be getting all my NYX stuff from there from now on. Even with S&H, my order came out cheaper than buying it in stores here! I bought 2 matte lip creams and a round lipstick and the cost with shipping was only Rs.900! To buy one lip cream in a store or Indian shopping site, would cost me Rs.600 for just one! You can do the math! D: Stupid taxes...
 It took around 15-20 days to get here and they had shipped it out the next day of ordering! Very prompt! :D They also have brands like L.A. colors, Cherimoya and Kleancolor that I want to try later. I totally recommend this site, it is truly value for money!

Soft matte Lip creams and Round Lipstick

Round Lipstick in 599 "Fire"

The round lipstick in "Fire" is such an amazing colour, it's a pink toned red, really bright but muted at the same time.. If that made sense. :/

Soft matte lip creams in Addis Ababa and Antwerp

I LOVE both these colours so much! They feel really velvelty on the lips and the colour pay-off is great. Compared to the VOV knock-offs, these are not at all different. The smell, packaging and feel is the same but these dry really fast and the VOV ones take 10 minutes or so, by that time you've already eaten/ drunk something to wash the colour off. So that sucks ass about the VOV.

Otherwise you can't ell the diff at all... See:

See how similar VOV has tried to make these! Lol! I still love the "Monte Carlo" shade though, the "Stockholm/ Tokyo" makes me look dead.

The two above are the NYX, the bottom two are VOV, you can see the VOV is glossy compared to NYX

I'm really loving online shopping! I have another order from Urbantouch on its way.. Don't be surprised if I stop blogging, it would probably be because I pawned my computer to shop... Actually that defeats the purpose doesn't it?

A teeny little haul :)

Before I drift off to la-la land for the night, I wanted to post a haul of some products I bought at Beauty Center yesterday. It is a jumble of things and some I’m really excited about! Swatches will come tomorrow because my camera’s being a bitch right now. *rolls eyes at drama cam*

I think I spent like Rs. 1600 over all this. Not bad eh? Still feel guilty though lol! I always do. -__-

Anyway, enjoy my little splurge. It’s not that great but I feel very accomplished because after 3-4 months I’ve actually walked into a shop and bought things instead of clicking buttons on the internet. :D

Faces cosmetics

I got the I-Shine eyeshadow quartet in blue and "Siberian Nights" nail polish. They gave me a free gift of these velcro curlers. Lol! Don't know when I'll use them.

Maybelline polishes and ADS (whatever that is) polish remover

These polishes were just too pretty to pass up! In Amarelo Sol, Roxo Metalico, Dourado Metalico and black. The "black" is such an anti-climax after all those heavy names :D The remover is apple scented! Definitely better than the strawberry scented I bought last time. Eww..

Teeez eyeliner, Street Wear eye definer, eyelash curler

I bought this eyeliner in "Ocean" by Teeez cosmetics, they're a pretty well establish European company. The packaging is cute, yes? The eye definer by Street Wear is in white, I just needed it seriously! What? Ok maybe not... Lol! Te curler was totally on impulse. *headdesk*

???? 

This! This is crazy! These are soft matte lip creams by... wait for it... VOV! Say what? Yes! Not by NYX, by VOV. Such plagiarism was never seen before! The packaging, the colours, the written content, it is ALL the same!! Even the effing smell is DA SAME! I bought these two for like a 100 bucks each (NYX Rs. 600!) 

They're 100% the same! I promise! I mean, unless these make your lips melt off that is. But I'm willing to take that chance. *brave face*

The ones I got were the colours.. ahem... Monte Carlo and Istanbul/Tokyo *cough*. I wanted to get the Addis Ababa and Antwerp too but I've already ordered those two from Porkdaisy.com . The only other colour left was London.

I later realised that the baby pink makes me look like a pale zombie princess so I just plan to dab and blot. The red is a beauty! Swatches tomorrow! ♥

Can you say, "Impulsive?"

This is the Bath and Body Works PocketBac, basically a hand sanitizer from their Halloween special, it is called Bones. There were more, I wanted them all.. With names like Skulls, Vampire Blood, Bat something something... Why I bought it? Well... The packaging was cute... :( Ok, I'm ashamed of myself. I suck. No self-control here. But it is so CUTE! I want more!! *makes grabby hands* O.o
