Independence Day Look: Tricolour Dreams

Usually, I'm a cynical person. I have a lot to bitch about in context to my country. It's too dirty, too corrupt, polluted and populated... Sure! But this is one of the days of the year I'm just going to shut up and be happy I live here. It might not be a perfect country but it is MY country.

Anyway, enough of that... I'm never up early enough for flag hoists and speeches. This is the only way I can show my love, probably. So let me know if you like it!
Btw orange, white, blue and green are a difficult combo to work with! So, yeah. >.> If it's not pretty, I can't be blamed! LOL!

Creative Makeup Challenge Day 3: Tim Burton "Good" Character Makeup Look

Ooooh! I'm so excited for today's challenge! Excited and NERVOUS!
For good characters I could think of choosing between only two characters, Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas and Emily, the Corpse Bride from well, The Corpse Bride! :D

I ended up choosing Emily because both of us have blue hair! LOL!

Now, I know this is not perfect but I've never tried anything so drastic before, so I really hope you guys like it! ^u^

Bahaha! The veil makes me look more like The Corpse Nun! I didn't have any nice material on such short notice of course. :) My eyebrows were being a pain to conceal! LOL!  I used the lightest concealer from my BH Cosmetics Camouflage palette for the base because I didn't have white foundation. :( I also wih I had done upper lashes but for some reason the lash glue was really making my skin and eyes sting! Must have developed an allergy.. :/

I think I used up almost 50% of my blue shadows from the 88 palette! LOL! But it was so much fun, I don't mind. :) I forgot to do my neck and ended up photoshopping the colour so that it would look the same! LOL! Sorry about that! -__-'

PLEASE tell me what you thought of this look because this really is a first for me, a transformation look, you know?
Anyway, next look will be coming on Monday, I know you guys must be getting bored of just the makeup challenge to read about so I'll get some reviews ready over the weekend. :)

Circular Insanity Electrifying Eyes Makeup Contest Entry: Wired to Blue

You guys are going to be so bored of me spamming your blog feed with eye makeup contest entries. :D Blame these bloggers who are having such interesting contests, especially since all their themes are so different, I feel the need to enter all of them!

So, this entry is for Circular Insanity's contest, sponsored by L'Oreal, her theme is Electrifying Eyes! The look has to be electric, so time to get crazy!

I decided to go with blue for this entry because I had the words "electric blue" going through my head the whole time, so I decided to heck with it! I wanted to do a over the top, sci-fi meets David Bowie look. :D

VNA Summer Eye Makeup contest Entry 1: Heat wave

I don't know how many of you girls have heard, Vanity No Apologies and L'Oreal have organised an awesome "Summer Eye Makeup" contest. Well, how can I ignore it! I have to take part... Muahaha! I'm going to go nuts with this!

This is my first entry, I wanted to do something bright but sultry that women can wear to a club or party. I did my best to not go OTT with it. ^-^' Plus the only thing I can think about summer right now is "Argh! HOT HOT HOT!" Hence, the warm colours. :/

Try and Follow Me Eye Tutorial: K-pop Inspired ^u^

I really love K-pop! Like, REALLY love it! It's the kind of thing that bombards your senses till you're totally caught up in it. The music is catchy and will get stuck in your head even if you don't like it, and visually, every backdrop, costume and hairstyle is always OTT. So, it is obvious, the make up will be awesome too!

That's why I've decided that I'm going to start doing K-pop inspired tutorials, now and then.. Maybe a few anime ones as well! :D I thought of this especially because the Korean eyes are very different from Indian eyes so  had to change the look around a bit to suit me. Not a lot, just a bit.. And, I think if anyone is interested in these looks, they will help them. I also want to do other celebrity looks, so if you guys have any ideas, let me know! :)

So, lets get started! My first look is going to be from a song called Try and Follow Me by 2NE1, one of my favourite videos, because storm troopers! :D This is the original look:

Step 1: Using a white eye pencil/ shadow base, cover the eyelid and blend Blend some on the corner of the lower lid as well. So we have a base. I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk

Step 2:  Sweep on a baby blue shade on the outer half of the eyelid, blend into the crease.

Step 3:  Next, use a silvery shade and pat it on to the middle of the eye lid, blend into the blue and the crease.

Step 4: I accidently (is accidently not a word? I keep getting spell checked! D:) skipped photographing a step. -__- So this is a two in one. In the inner corner and outer lower corner blend in a white shadow. Above the inner corner blend in a baby pink. The pink will make the look more fresh and not dull..

Step 5: Now for the fun bit! EYELINER! Make a dramatic winged liner, use my tutorial if you don't know how... Although if you don't know how this tutorial's gonna be a real bitch soon. D:

Remember to stay within the eyebrow!

Step 6: Leaving some space from the corner of the eye, draw a line parallel to the flick of the top lid liner. Then bring it down to the water line in a similar way to the top lid. This bit takes some time so have some patience, a q-tip and some make up remover with you. :)

Then fill it up! Fill in your water line, leaving the same gap at the corner and tightline!

Step 7: Fill in the white as shown..

Load on the mascara! And done! :D I wish I had some fake lashes for this look. Maybe I'll buy some. :/

Here's the full face. Use a pink blush and a soft pink lipstick. :) I used NYX round lipstick in Blush.. That died on me because of the heat, because of which I got another tutorial to make. -__-

Enchanting Green: EOTD Tutorial

Hi there! I'm sorry I didn't get this post up yesterday, I've been and still am insanely busy with work but I'm still going to do my best to get posts up. :)
The eye look I'm doing today is a very simple and sophisticated look but it's summery as well. :) Great for a night out.
The colours I'm primarily using are green, gold and copper. I'm using my Coastal Scents palette but you can use whatever similar colours you have, play around with it. :)

This is the finished eye look:

So, let's start!

Step 1: Clean and prime! Then right above your lash line, halfway to the crease pat on a coppery eyeshadow.

All the late nights are really showing, eh?

Step 2: Right above the copper, upto the crease, sweep on some dusty gold and blend the two.

Step 3: My camera hasn't picked up the colour very well, but on the crease, like shown, blend on some light yellowy  green, blend it out well and also into the gold.

Step 4:  On the outer corner of the crease, pat on a dark green and blend into the rest of the crease. Keep the colour intense in the corner though.

Step 5: Highlight the brow bone and inner corner of the eye with a gold shadow. I also lined my lower lash line with a copper pencil, you can use the same copper shadow, if a pencil is unavailable.

Step 6: Give a winged line to the eye with a gel or liquid liner. You cn find the tutorial here. Water line and tightline your eyes and don't skimp on mascara!

And done! Pair with nude or pink lips!

"Arabian Nights" EOTD and Tutorial

In my Coastal Scents haul post, I had put up a look that I got really nice comments for and I even got requests for a tutorial! Thanks Rids and Puja! :D So, the awesome thing about this look was I did it completely on the fly and I've been kicking myself for not noting down how I did it! But I think I've figured it out now. ^u^
It might look a bit different from the original though.

Also, I'm too cheap to buy nice brushes, I use like three brushes:
An angled one, a flat one and various sponge blenders... Yeah.. So, you can pick what brush to use at what step, I'll give you a few hints but.. yeah.. -__- Sorry.. Teehee.

This is the look I got at the end:

It does look slightly different doesn't it? :/ I used too much green.

So lets get to the tutorial! Lotsa pics to post! ;)

Step 1:  Using a dark purple/blue eyeshadow, like the eyeliner tutorial, draw out a line right from your lower lash line, following the angle and make sure to end it before the eyebrow, then following the crease draw a curve ending just a bit before the inner corner.

Step 2: Fill in the outer 3rd of the eyelid with the same colour, also bring in the curve of the crease and fill a bit on the upper lash line.

Step 3: Fill in the middle with a lighter blue, not too light, just medium, blend it with the purple.

Step 4: With a slightly lighter blue, fill in the inner corner and blend it outwards, keep all of it within the crease.

Step 5: Sweep a turquoise green across your lash line and blend upwards.

Step 6: Sorry for the bad picture. :( Here, with a copper, gold, brown or even black pencil draw over your upper AND lower lashlines, this will basically give a base for more eyeshadows to show up brightly. :)

Step 7: Now, on top of the pencil work a green on the inner and outer sides and a gold right in the center. Then, blend them into each other but keep the gold prominent! We want that pop of gold. :)

Step 8: Put some gold shadow on the inner corners and blend it into the top and bottom lid.

Step 9: Using the medium blue shadow, draw a line along side the "wing" and blend it only slightly into the wing, it should still look defined but not a hard line.

Step 10: Over the pencil line we made on the lower lashline, sweep on some of the green on the outer and inner corner, like the top lid, and blend the outer one into the blue we made in the previous step. Also, put some gold in the center of the lower lash line and blend with the green.

Step 11: Pat on some of the gold onto the brow bone and blend it downwards in the shape shown below!

Step 12:  Tightline and darken the waterline of the eyes with a black pencil and wear LOTS of mascara and you are DONE!

That was long wasn't it? Phew!

I played around with my camera for a bit with the look, gives you an idea of how the entire face would look. I'm not wearing foundation so my skin looks bleh. I'm sorry, I'll remember to wear it next time.  

I showed this pic to my bf and he says, "You look Arabian or something." LOL! It worked!

I wore the scarf because red hair just doesn't look right with the look!

I used an orange looking bronzer from my Revlon palette for the cheeks and Blushing Brunette on my lips. I love that colour, seriously!

Make-up used:

• Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette 

I used the ticked shades

•  NYX eye/eyebrow pencil in Cuivre (copper)
• Maybelline Colossal Kajal 
• Maybelline Colossal Volum' mascara
• Revlon Bronzer (don't know the name)
• Maybelline Colorsensational lipstick "Blushing Brunette"
