Monday Manicure: Freehand Geometrical Design

Yay! A Monday Manicure after a long long time! The winter's been very harsh on my nails, yes even in Mumbai! So I haven't been wearing as much nail polish as I used to. My nails keep breaking and nail polish keeps chipping too! X(

Anyway, I did this manicure a couple of days ago, I was really bored and decided to do it freehand. I would have normally use tape for lines like this but the glue on the tape was too strong and peeling off my polish.. Grrr...
So I used a paint brush! Lol!

Sure, it's not as neat as using tape. But still fun to do!
Btw see how dry my cuticles are? ;n;

The colours I used are China Glaze "Flyin' High" for a base, "Re-fresh Mint" for the mint and Maybelline Colorama "Sexy" for the pink! Hope you like it! ^_^

What do you like using to do nail art?

Circle Lens Review: I.Fairy Binky (Blue)

This is a looong overdue review! The initial photos I took for it got corrupt! >.<
I had to do them all over again! But I'm happy with the new ones! And I'm happy with these lenses too!
They're from the very creative circle lens brand I.Fairy! From a series called "Binky."
These lenses were kindly sponsored by ♥Apple of Your Eyes♥

The Binky Blue lenses are not a natural type of lens. They're more of a costume type lens but if you're a little more adventurous, you can wear them on a normal day. They'll get people lost in your eyes! ;)

Brand: I.Fairy (SUNnBON)
Water content: 55%
Diameter: 16.2 mm
Base curve: 8.6 mm
Prescription available:  0 to -7.00
Expiry:1 year disposable (3 years if unopened)
Place of Origin: Korea

About  ♥Apple of Your Eyes♥
This is a blogshop where you can find lenses ranging in every price and design.
It is run by the very lovely Allyson, she's a real sweetheart guys.
If you have any problems she won't hesitate to help you out!
She double checked everything with me before sending the package and the shipping was fast!
Got to me from Malaysia in a week!

She sent a really sweet note with the lenses, everything was wrapped in bubble wrap and the vials themselves were gift wrapped! ^__^
Things like that make such a difference. ♥

The vials were super cute and tiny!

One in, one out
Design: ♥♥♥♥
The design is so complicated and gorgeous! I love the spirals on the rim and the whirl wind design! The bright blue definitely stands out on my eyes, a lot like the Jewel blue. But like the Jewel blue, my one complaint with the design is the abruptly made pupil hole. I prefer gradual pupil holes, they blend better! But apart from that, the pattern is so unusual and pretty!
It looks almost normal from afar and becomes a conversation starter up close! :D

Comfort: ♥♥♥

The comfort too was very similar to the Jewel lenses. It took some time for my eyes to adjust to the lenses and they dried up in about 5 hours, but didn't become unbearable. Again I must add that the reason is probably the concentration of pigments, the lenses are very opaque and that can be a bit of a problem in comfort.

Enlargement: ♥♥♥♥♥
Oooh boy! The Binky Blue lenses are huge! The black ring makes my eyes look huge! Look at that in and out picture! Wonky eyes? :D Good!
But I don't think it makes them look alien. The jagged ring does look unusual but not jarring. At least not to me.

Overall: ♥♥♥♥♥♥
If it wasn't for the comfort I would have given these lenses a 4! But 3.5 ain't half bad! The design is gorgeous and the colour stands out so well on my poopy eyes. I totally recommend these if you want to do a Lolita, doll look! Even for some fun occasions, I would recommend them!

Likey? Wanty? Then check out ♥Apple of Your Eyes♥  and fill in your order here!

Awesome right?!

I almost forgot! Here are some shots of me with the lenses on. I know my skin is mad photoshopped. The weather here is so terrible right now, so hot and humid so all you could see in the pics was sweat! Not pretty! >.< Don't mind! I haven't shopped the lenses though. :)

Hope you liked this review! It took me so long to get it up (that's what she said), the fonts were being horrible, some words small, some normal, alignment screwing up! Grr!!

Anyway, see you later! Do leave me comments! I've missed them. ;n;

Circle Lens Review: I.Fairy Jewel Blue

Ah, it's been a long time since I did a circle lens review! Okay no, it hasn't but it does feel like it! Lol! Anyway, the lenses I'm reviewing today are quite outside my comfort zone but I'm glad I picked them! The lenses I'm reviewing are the I.Fairy Jewel series in Blue!
They were sponsored by the very awesome UNIQSO!
Thanks UNIQSO! >3<

So far I've tried Geo the most and I wanted to try a new brand that's why I went for I.Fairy. They have really creative and crazy designs! This one is one of the tamer ones. ;)
Anyway, on to the review!~

Brand:  I.Fairy (SUNnBON)
Water content: 42%
Diameter: 16.2 mm
Base curve: 8.6 mm
Prescription available:  0 to -7.00
Expiry:1 year disposable (3 years if unopened)
Place of Origin: Korea

The Jewel series comes in 6 colours including pink! :D

So, this time the post was kind to me and I got my lenses in a week! Yay! I opened it all up and saw, Uniqso has new packaging! It is super cute but I loved the old one too! ^u^

Now they also provide a q tip to fish out your lenses from the vial!

The Korean says Mi-in. I wonder if that's the Korean name. (It means  Belle/ Beauty.)

Authentication baby!

One in, one out, no makeup! Holy super wonky eyes Batman!
 Design: ♥♥♥♥
I am in love with the design! The edge of the lenses looks serrated and this really softens the effect of the huge size! The colour is so obvious! I've never worn normal blue lenses that were so bright! In natural light they look the best. They look normal yet claim attention! The only issue I have with the design is that it ends too abruptly in the center. So sometimes you get a "chameleon eye" effect. Luckily it isn't too noticeable!

Comfort: ♥♥♥
The comfort I would say is okay for these lenses. The water percentage is a whopping 42% but the first time I wore them my eyes felt tired really easily! The second time was much more comfortable. They weren't like my previous lenses that felt comfy as soon as I wore them but they were easy to get used to. I got 6 good hours of comfy wear from them. I think it is because there is a lot of pigment in them that they made my eyes tired easily.

Enlargement: ♥♥♥♥
The enlargement for me was just right with these lenses! They were not too big or doll like, and surprisingly natural for 16.2 mm effect lenses!

Overall:
I love the bright colour, I love the size and how they look! I find them awesome to wear with my glasses (see pics), they make my eyes stand out without looking unnatural! Here are some pics to show you how they look!

I especially love how they look with my glasses! I will be reviewing the glasses soon too btw!

Independence Day Look: Tricolour Dreams

Usually, I'm a cynical person. I have a lot to bitch about in context to my country. It's too dirty, too corrupt, polluted and populated... Sure! But this is one of the days of the year I'm just going to shut up and be happy I live here. It might not be a perfect country but it is MY country.

Anyway, enough of that... I'm never up early enough for flag hoists and speeches. This is the only way I can show my love, probably. So let me know if you like it!
Btw orange, white, blue and green are a difficult combo to work with! So, yeah. >.> If it's not pretty, I can't be blamed! LOL!

I used:

  • NYX Jumbo pencil Milk
  • Inglot eyeshaodw matte 366
  • Sleek I-Divine Glory palette: Green, light gold, blue
  • Bourjois Clubbing Contour eye pencil "Blue remix
  • Coastal Scents 88 Palette: White and black and matte green
  • Colossal Kajal and mascara
  • Maybelline gel liner

Happy Independence Day everyone! ♥

Sparkle Sparkle~ Faces Sparkle Dust- 256 "Frolic" Review

Hi all! Today I'm going to be reviewing something very pretty! Oh so pretty~~ *Ahem* Yes.. It's the Faces Sparkledust Stackable in Frolic.

I've always wanted to try pigments but I didn't want to spend a lot on something like MAC Melon (which I really want! ;n;) just to realise i would never use it.. So I decided to buy some inexpensive pigments, see what I feel about them and then get more. So I decided to buy one of the Faces Stackable Sparkledusts. You get these in individul jars too but I wanted some variety. LOL!

Facts about Faces: Faces is a brand from Canada, they were established in 1974 and their pricing is amazing! Took them long enough to come to India. -__-

Price: These are around 549 INR but I got them for 466 in Beauty center Khar.

Packaging: The entire package looks like this.

You can get these in sets of 5 or 8.
The packaging is nice but I feel like the plastic is too flimsy and brittle. So, i'm always afraid that it's gonna break. :/
I like that being a stack, its easy to carry and all that but it is annoying to screw and unscrew each jar, plus there are more chances of it falling, considering the high center of gravity. *adjusts faux geek glasses*

The jars aren't big, they probably hold one and a half teaspoon of pigment, but I like the fact that they are small. Otherwise you get a huge jar and it never gets over!

The Colours: The pigments are VERY shimmery, each and every one of them! I'm not a fan of shimmer but I don't mind it here and there. Problem is when you want to use them dry, they cause a lot of fallout (as all pigments would.) So even if you clean them off, a bit of the shimmer remains. >.<
You have to wear your foundation aftr you use these or use a tissue for fallout.

The colours look brilliant used wet although I find the green and blue a bit too similar. There are quite a few of these sets and they all have some colours that coincide, so search a bit and find ones with unique colours.

Red: Has gold shimmers, very dark

Has blue(ish) shimmers, not my favourite!

Pink: my favourite! Has purple and pink shimmer

Blue/ Teal: Another favourite! has gold shimmer, gives it a multidimensional quality.

White duochrome: Shines pink and gold according to the light.
Swatches: *click for larger images*
No flash

Flash
Isn't that white so pretty with its gold and pink duo goodness! *o*

EOTD:

Not my best EOTD! Sorry... ;n;
I used the white in the inner corner, blue in the center and pink on the outer v. I also used NYC jumbo pencil in Milk, Bourjois Clubbing Contour pencil in "Blue Remix" and Colossal kajal an mascara. :3

Overall:
I feel that this is a good buy for someone who wants to try pigments like I did. I just wish the plastic was less brittle and they had a few no shimmer colours, but then they really wouldn't be "sparkle dust." As I said, I'm not big on the shimmer. LOL!

EDIT: My SkincareRx giftcard giveaway is now closed, i'll be announcing the winner in a couple of days! Good luck everyone! ^-^
