KKCenterHk False Lashes Review: Handmade Black Natural Short to Long Lashes

If there is one thing I truly suck at makeup wise, it is applying false lashes to myself. I can very easily apply them for other but for myself, I'll probably glue my eye lids shut. Lol!
So when KKCenterHk suggested I try some false lashes I was pretty nervous but decided to take up the challenge! And guess what? I didn't blind myself! Woohoo! And the lashes were pretty too by the way. ;)

Thanks to KKCenterHk for very kindly sponsoring these handmade black lashes, now on to the review!

Price:
21.50$ for 10 pairs

Packaging:
The lashes come in a sleek black cardboard box with a tray that you slide out. The lashes are attached to the box with gold stickers and not stuck on like most lashes are to the packaging. I really hate that because you end up misshaping the lashes if you're not careful. This is much easier! Definitely like the packaging, it's sturdy and looks good too! ^_^

Shape and Style:
These lashes are very glamorous and a bit dramatic too, they have a thicker flared end, while the inside is thinner and smaller.

The stem is really very thin and made of what seems to be nylon thread, you can't see it once it is on at all!
These lashes are really big in size so you can cut them down to fit your eye size. (Always trim from the outside, not the inside! ^_^)
I found that I can pull individual bunches out through the stem, then cut the stem length, this actually made it easier for me to cut them without cutting hairs and making a mess!

Being so thin, the stem was a bit difficult for me to stick on. I think that had a lot to do with my crappy Kryolan eyelash glue too though, also you have to be careful with how much glue you apply, too thick and it will really show, like in my EOTDs. ;n;
Seriously that glue sucks, I'm going back to DUO!

Re-usability:
Yes, you can reuse these as long as you remove the previous lash glue carefully and don't get any in the hairs. ^_^

EOTD:

Sorry for the excessive Photoshop in these, neither my skin nor my camera was in a mood to behave! No photoshop on the actual look though.T^T

I went with an Arabic sort of look but you can see my horrible skin in the last pic, the weather here is so terrible, it's made it all weird and bumpy. >.<
Anyway, you can see in the pics  had a little trouble with the glue, it just wouldn't stay on. But the end result is still pretty I think!
I used these lashes on a shoot as well and they stayed on pretty well with DUO lash glue. So I definitely recommend a good quality glue (for any lashes really!)

All in all, I love the look of these lashes, they look lush and glamorous but not totally OTT! Plus about 2$ a pair is a very good price!
I definitely would recommend them! ^_^

You can get these handmade lashes and other great makeup products at KKCenterHk!

I usually don't wear falsies because some glues give me allergies and sting my eyes but even though I've found ones that don't I still wouldn't wear them all the time! Lol! Too much time taken!
Still great for parties and special occasions though!
What about you? Do you like wearing false lashes? let me know!

Thanks for reading!

*product sent for review, my opinion is honest and my own.
Sorry for all the sponsored posts these days guys, just trying to get them all out of the way, I have a lot of backlog. ;n;

Tiny Pretty Things: Castledew Pearl Up Eyes Eyeshadows Review (Image Heavy)

As promised on my Facebook page I have the review of the Castledew single shadows. They're from The Pearl Up Single Eyeshadow range, two of them are called "Extreme Pearl" and are extra shimmery.

Castledew is a Korean brand under VOV and not available in India, so when I found these and other goodies right in the city, I was over the moon!
I actually contemplated them being fake and picked up only two at first but after researching them online like a woman possessed, I found they were the REAL THING!
The next day: Goes back and buys EVERYTHING. (Well almost, still have to try the lipsticks and glosses.)

Anyway, on to my review! Lol!

Price:
Living in Mumbai you can find them at Beauty Center for Rs. 75. But they're selling out quick! (Well, at that price they should be! Lol!)

On Korea Depart they have a few colours, it was the cheapest option I found, for 5-6$.
On Ebay they can be found for any price between 8-15$! *cough* rip-off *cough*

Packaging:
The packaging is veryy well thought out. The outer cardboard box is purple with holographic designs and letters, they're basically really pretty and hypnotic so you are compelled to buy them! >.<
It has cut-outs for both back and front to see the colour and read the number and name at the back.
The inside is really pretty too! Shaped like little jewels and with more holographic goodness when you open them! The powder too has a diamond pattern. ^_^

Feel the Holographic Hypnosis! From L-R: 9456 Ocean Sky Blue, VL330 Midnight Violet, 9634 Pink Bear? Veil? IDK >.<, 9149 Coral Peach, E9209 Deep Brown
Smell and Texture:
The shadows have no smell and the texture is absolutely buttery except for the two extreme shadows which although soft are gritty due to chunky glitter.

Colours:
I have five of them and although they have numbers, I practiced my Korean by reading them out loud in the store and sounding like a chimp evolving to use human languages. -__-
I did figure out the names though! Lol! And brushed up on my non-existent Korean skills. XD

9456: Ocean Sky Blue

From the Extreme Pearl Up Eyes, a great aqua colour with loads of shimmer and slightly multi dimensional. The photo doesn't do the shimmer justice. I found that it made a great dupe for MAC's Divine Blue. ^_^

VL330: Midnight Violet:

Even though it's called Midnight Violet, this is a pale purple colour and looks very feminine. i was thinking it would be more of a Goth colour but nope! Still love it though. :)

9634: Pink Bear? Veil? ( It says 핑크 베일.. Veil might make more sense. -__-)

This colour is one of those you think looks really plain but turns out to be amazing in that subtle pretty way! Love this for retro looks and is really satin like in texture. Again, reminds me of MAC Ready to Party.. I just saw these colours at the store and realised how I don't need them because I have dupes. Lol! Thought you'd like to know. ;)

9149: Coral Peach

A fave of mine, great for parties and everyday looks. It's a pinky orange which switches to gold in different lights. I didn't expect that from something that looks so flat in the case!

E9209: Deep Brown

Another fave! Looks much darker in person and has a matte finish. Great for a smokey look. It leans warm and doesn't look muddy or patchy when applied.

This look was done with just the deep brown, a black pencil and a highlight.
Performance:
These colours are all so amazing and last for a good long time of 5 hours without primer on my oily lids. Though, the brown lasts much longer! I am itching to get more of these but I have so many eyeshadows right now, that I'll stick to daydreaming about them!
Even though I got them cheap, they do have a more expensive price tag. Truthfully, I would be willing to pay 5-6$ (Rs.200-300 approx.) for these. Their quality is comparable to brands like NYX and some colours especially are worth it!

You can get the chance to win some of the Castledew Pearl Up Eyes in my giveaway HERE.

Hope you enjoyed this loooong review. I'll try to keep the next one shorter! Lol! And I'm sorry about my shabby eyemakeup looks, I did them quite hurriedly. >.<
So, have you tried Castledew eyeshadows? Would you want to?
Thanks for reading!

I ♥ Purple Eyeshadow!: Cuicu Flashing Diamond Eyeshadow in Violet

Purple my favourite shade of eyeshadow along with teal. Having drab poopy eyes requires me to find colours that add some life to them and purple does that job so, so well!
The eyeshadow I'm reviewing is the CUICU Flashing Diamond Single EyeShadow in Violet, it was sent to me by the lovely people at KKCenterHk!
I was so happy to be picking eye makeup to review this time rather than nail related stuff!
Thank you KKCenterHk! >w<

Price:
$4.83 for 4.2g

Packaging:

This eyeshadow is big! I mean really big! It comes in a cardboard box like above and inside is a typical eyeshadow except it is BIG! As big as a NYX cream blush size wise. That is really good to see. 4.2g for a little less than 5$ is an absolute steal!

I must admit the inner packaging is much classier than the cardboard. It feels solid, not at all flimsy and did I mention, it's really big?! There is no applicator brush or mirror though, so that maybe a downer for someone on the go. I have no issues with that fact though.

Texture and Color:

This eyeshadow is brilliantly pigmented! I initially thought that would be a catch, you know? Big size, small price, pretty colours? The pay off has to be weak! That did not happen...
The colour was a silky smooth deep violet!
Performance wise, it lasted 3-4 hours without primer and 6-7 with it. Like any other eyeshadow to be honest. No complaints there.
One thing was amusing to me though, I expect something that has "Flashing Diamond" in its name to be glittery or shimmery at the least but this eyeshadow was absolutely matte!
Don't get me wrong though, I loved that fact! ^_^

Swatch:

On My Eyes:
Since I wanted to add a little sheen to the Violet shadow, I used my maybelline Painted Purple Color Tattoo as a base in the center of my lids. I went for a smokey purple look.

I'm going to be doing a tutorial on this look for a friend so do check it out if you're interested! :3

Overall:
I think the Cuicu Flashing Diamond eyeshadow passes with flying colours! It's a lot of product for a small price and has great colour pay-off! What more could on ask for?

To buy this eyeshadow, head on over to KKCenterHk and if you use my code "beautyandthecheap" you'll get a discount of 10% on purchase! ^_^

Can I just say now, I love my new camera even more after taking those eye pics? LOVE!
Let me know your thoughts on this review!

*sponsored post: Products were sent to me for review. I was not given any monetary compensation and this review is completely my honest opinion.

24 Hour Color Tattoo is finally here! Review!

Yes, I've been a bad blogger! I've neglected my blog for almost a week now! *gasps* It's weird, I just haven't been in the mindset to write! And I could not have worse timing for such a mindset because I have a gazillion reviews to do!
So I'mma take baby steps and start small, with a review of Maybelline's Color Tattoo Eyeshadow! I know all you Indian babes are ecstatic that it's finally here, right? ^o^

There are 8 shades released in India, all of them are AWESOME! I had taken crappy cellphone pics of swatches for all of them but they are so horrible, i can't bear to put them up! But a lot of bloggers have already put them up so just google it! Lol!

These epic cream shadows have been compared to MAC paint pots, having never tried the paint pots, I can't judge! Anyway, these babies promise 24 hour, crease less wear. I haven't tested them for that long but I'll tell you my experience. :D

Price:
Rs.350/- Not too high, not too low for 4g of product. :) I got it for Rs.315 at Beauty Center btw!

Packaging:
The eyeshadow comes in a sealed glass jar with a black screw off lid. The lid has all the details writtn on it, whereas the jar has Color Tattoo printed in silver. For the month of September, each Color Tattoo shadow comes with a free eyeshadow brush! So hurry to get yours. :)
I suggest storing these upside down, not only does it help you find the colour more easily, but they don't dry out either. ^-^

Colour:
I love this purple! It's a little on the lavender side and a bit sheer butit can be built up to an amazing jewel tone intensity! I picked this one because I really don't need more neutral shadows but the gold and bronze are really pretty as well! Next I'm going to pick up Edgy Emrald! A wonderful green, :)

Swatches:
Swatch on the left, spread on right. You can see how sheer it is but in my EOTD you can see how I've built the intensity. It sets in seconds, so you have to work fast!
No flash

With flash
Lasting Power:
I had this swatch on my hand for at least 10 hours and only after I had washed my hand for the 5th time could I see some fading, I just did my daily doings with it on and it stayed with no transfer or creasing. On my lids, which are crazy oily in this weather btw, it stayed on for a good 7 hours with no creasing even though I had layered it.
It will ONLY come off with an oil based makeup remover! I had to scrub my arm with normal cleanser in the store and it didn't even budge! Good show, Maybelline!

Overall:
I will definitely be buying more of these, I'm eyeing Edgy Emerald and Fierce and Tangy next! The only issues with the Color Tattoo I had was, this colour is sheer, so I use more product to build it up, so it is a waste. Luckily this is not the case with ALL of them! Secondly, it is best applied with a sponge applicator or finger so that maybe a problem for some!

EOTD:
Gold, black from CS 88 palette and Painted Purple layered twice.
Rating: ♥♥♥♥
0.5 for the sheer finish. .___.

Have you tried any of the Color Tattoo shadows yet? Which ones do you like? ^u^

Review: Sleek i-Divine 2012 Limited Edition (Glory) Palette

Remember I had won Sleek's Facebook giveaway and won their Limited Edition Collection? :D Well, I actually wanted to keep it closed and locked away because it was so pretty! I still haven't used the blush or pout polish! LOL! But I thought I should do a review on these soon since it is a LE collection and maybe some of you might like to buy it before it's gone. :) So, I hope this review helps you decide whether you want to get the i-Divine Glory palette! This is my first Sleek eyeshadow palette, so I hope I can do this review some justice. LOL!

Description: The 2012 collection i-Divine in Glory is jam packed with colours that will pop on all skin tones. The top row of the palette consists of highly pigmented shimmering gold, bronze and silver shades, with a contrasting bottom row featuring rich primary hues such as deep blue, yellow and red. Choose from 12 London underground inspired shade names, such as ‘Victoria’, ‘Central’, and ‘Circle’!

Price: The price of the Glory palette is 9.99$, a good price to pay for a 12 colour palette. :)

Packaging: The entire collection came in a black box with pretty pink paper inside and was very well packed, you can check out the packaging here.
The palette itself was in the colourful box below. I love the actual palette's packing, it is really well... Sleek!

The only thing that irks me, but is also kinda a good thing, is that the palette is hard to open. I've got it now but initially I chipped my polish a lot! LOL! But at least the palette won't just open in your bag!
The size is as big as my hand, I expected it to be bigger after seeing a lot of reviews but I'm not disappointed in any way. :)

Quality: Can you say AMAZING?! The Glory Palette colours are richly pigmented and all but two are shimmery. What I really like about this palette is there is a good balance between neutrals and brights. For someone who doesn't want too much makeup and a few choice shades for most occassions, this is perfect!

All the names!

All the shades are London and Olympic based. The first four in the top row remind me of the medals where as the others are based of the colours of various London underground lines. :) I also feel there maybe inspiration taken from the Olympic rings. But I might just be going into it a bit too much! LOL!

The Colours:

Top Row:
Tube: Champagne gold
Overground: Beige with silver shimmer
Bakerloo: Bronze
Jubilee: Silver
Platform (matte): Grey
Northern: Black with blue shimmer
Bottom Row:
District: Teal geen
Hammersmith and City: Pinky red
Piccadilly: Dark navy
Circle: Egg yolk yellow
Victoria: Bright blue
Central (matte): Scarlet red

I find all of them to pig brilliantly pigmented except for Platform, which you will see in the swatches, barely shows up. The staying power is good! With primer they last for 6-7 hours on oily lids, although lighter colours like the yellow look darker later. :/

Swatches:
The swatches are without any base, that gap in the middle of the top row is actually the swatch for Platform! LOL! These look great with a white base but also work well with a normal primer.

Overall:
A lovely combo of neutrals and brights, great to travel with because of the variety of colours! The quality is brilliant, except for Platform which was very disappointing. :( I feel like it's a small piece of Olympic makeup memorabilia, and a good palette to have especially at the price. Sadly they don't ship these to my US girls but maybe get a friend from across the pond to buy one for you?
I'm in love with Sleek now! Before I had tried only their lipstick, Coral Reef which I had bought in a blogsale but now I'm hooked! I already received my second palette! LOL! The Acid palette!

I really want to thank Sleek for picking me as a winner, I got to try their amazing products!

I did a look with this palette but it isn't as crazy as usual, I wasn't in a mad mood! >.< I'll try a few more later and post them. I used only Tube, Bakerloo, District and Nothern for this look.

Creative Makeup Challenge Day 4: Geisha Look *fail*

Ok, I know it says Geisha but I got carried away! I wanted to do something different and I skipped over to something not geisha! LOL! So now it isn't geisha anymore.. It's Kabuki!

Le difference?
Geisha

Kabuki
LOL! Yes, instead of turning my makeup into something delicate and feminine, I managed to make it something fierce and scary! SORRY! >__<

So, here's my look, I didn't want to paint my face white so I stuck with focus on the eyes. :) used the usual geisha/ kabuki colours, white, black, red and a bit of yellow.

I didn't want to put up the full face because it looks effing scary! But I have to because makeup challenge! ;n; The contouring makes me look like a drag queen! Here it is *gulp*:

I hope you weren't too freaked out by that! LOL!
See you tomorrow with the Goth/ Emo look.
