Manicure Monday: Blingtastic Sequined Nails with Review

Hey everyone! Here's a little change from my makeup challenge, I decided to do my nails with a little effort yesterday, I've been doing them lazily for a while now since I had such a huge workload to deal with!
So I thought I would try this awesome glitter that was sent to me by KKCenterHk.

KKCenterHk, is a great stroe where you get everything beauty related under the sun for very reasonable prices :)
The glitter I received is a beautiful gold colour, this is the actual product name and link:  N.NAIL 1.5mm Bright Glitter- B0208.
The jar is $5.54 for 10 g and will seriously last me a life time! The glitter is 1.5mm in size and just the right size to be used on nails. The glitter is good quality and I like that it's a bit thick so it doesn't fly around when opened. The size is pretty uniform too!

I plan to use this glitter for eye makeup too! Lets see how that goes. :)

 I used NYX's Hot Coral and while it was still wet, set the glitter in there with a toothpick. Then added top coat!  I liked how it turned out! I obviously have a thing for coral and gold, I'm sure some of you remember this tutorial. :D

FOTD and tutorial: Neutral Gold Eyes and Coral Lips

Entering all these eye makeup competitions made me realise something, i.e. I hardly ever do any neutral tutorials, which you girls can actually follow and wear.. Oh well, I guess I'll start now. :)
I love golds and corals, this is a very wearable look, for even everyday, especially in summer. You can also jazz it up a bit for formal events. :) It's very easy!

Final look with flash 

Step 1: Take a shimmery gold colour and pat it on to the center of your lid.

Step 2: Use a bronze/ copper shade on the outer corner and blend it into the gold.

Step 3: On the lower side of the outer corner apply a darker brown shadow and blend.

Step 4: Blend in a taupe colour into the crease.

Step 5: Smudge a black pencil on the outer corner of the lower lid and then use the gold on the lower lid like shown.

Step 6: Smudge some more black onto the outer corners, also line the outer corner of the lower lash line.  Make it look subtle and not harsh.

Step 7: Curl your lashes and add a good amount of mascara, your everyday gold eye makeup is done!

Products used:

• Some Korean gold eyeshadow, I can't understand what it says!
• Maybelline Chai Latte (review here)
• Colossal Kajal and Colossal Volum' mascara
• Colorbar Peachy Rose blush
• NYX round lipstick in Femme

My Wedding Attendee Make up

You can also call it my, "Loo scrubbing look." Yes, I'm so glamorous, I scrub bathrooms with make up on! LOL! Anyway, you'll find out more about that in my primer review.

Speaking of primer, why don't make up artists in weddings use any?! I don't get it! That poor bride had her liner melt off and smudge under her brow.. And you can't mention it either.. AWKWARD! That lady has to stand under blazing hot lights and have her every move scrutinised by a camera (or three), the least that dumbass make up artist can do is put on some primer! #end rant.

Anyway, this was the look I did, I had around 20 minutes to get ready so I had to do something fast.. SO, I used the easy smokey eye idea and played with it. Here's how it goes:

Step 1: After priming, fill in the outer third of your eyes with black pencil, preferably waterproof.

Step 2: Smudge it inwards but not all over the lid and make sure the outer corner is still the darkest.

Step 3: Pat on a purple/ plum eyshadow all over the eye till the crease and before the inner corner.

Step 4: In the inner corner pat on some gold shadow, you can use both shadows on the lower lid as well.

Step 5: Sweep on a bronze shadow above the crease.

Step 6: Blend the bronze into the inner corner. And blend the bronze above the crease, upwards. You can use some gold to blend it out as well.

Step 7: Using a black gel/ pencil liner draw on a simple winged liner. Also tightline and line the water line.

And done! Very simple and fast and great for formal occasions. :)

"Arabian Nights" EOTD and Tutorial

In my Coastal Scents haul post, I had put up a look that I got really nice comments for and I even got requests for a tutorial! Thanks Rids and Puja! :D So, the awesome thing about this look was I did it completely on the fly and I've been kicking myself for not noting down how I did it! But I think I've figured it out now. ^u^
It might look a bit different from the original though.

Also, I'm too cheap to buy nice brushes, I use like three brushes:
An angled one, a flat one and various sponge blenders... Yeah.. So, you can pick what brush to use at what step, I'll give you a few hints but.. yeah.. -__- Sorry.. Teehee.

It does look slightly different doesn't it? :/ I used too much green.

So lets get to the tutorial! Lotsa pics to post! ;)

Step 1:  Using a dark purple/blue eyeshadow, like the eyeliner tutorial, draw out a line right from your lower lash line, following the angle and make sure to end it before the eyebrow, then following the crease draw a curve ending just a bit before the inner corner.

Step 2: Fill in the outer 3rd of the eyelid with the same colour, also bring in the curve of the crease and fill a bit on the upper lash line.

Step 3: Fill in the middle with a lighter blue, not too light, just medium, blend it with the purple.

Step 4: With a slightly lighter blue, fill in the inner corner and blend it outwards, keep all of it within the crease.

Step 5: Sweep a turquoise green across your lash line and blend upwards.

Step 6: Sorry for the bad picture. :( Here, with a copper, gold, brown or even black pencil draw over your upper AND lower lashlines, this will basically give a base for more eyeshadows to show up brightly. :)

Step 7: Now, on top of the pencil work a green on the inner and outer sides and a gold right in the center. Then, blend them into each other but keep the gold prominent! We want that pop of gold. :)

Step 8: Put some gold shadow on the inner corners and blend it into the top and bottom lid.

Step 9: Using the medium blue shadow, draw a line along side the "wing" and blend it only slightly into the wing, it should still look defined but not a hard line.

Step 10: Over the pencil line we made on the lower lashline, sweep on some of the green on the outer and inner corner, like the top lid, and blend the outer one into the blue we made in the previous step. Also, put some gold in the center of the lower lash line and blend with the green.

Step 11: Pat on some of the gold onto the brow bone and blend it downwards in the shape shown below!

Step 12:  Tightline and darken the waterline of the eyes with a black pencil and wear LOTS of mascara and you are DONE!

That was long wasn't it? Phew!

I played around with my camera for a bit with the look, gives you an idea of how the entire face would look. I'm not wearing foundation so my skin looks bleh. I'm sorry, I'll remember to wear it next time.  

I showed this pic to my bf and he says, "You look Arabian or something." LOL! It worked!

I wore the scarf because red hair just doesn't look right with the look!

I used an orange looking bronzer from my Revlon palette for the cheeks and Blushing Brunette on my lips. I love that colour, seriously!

Make-up used:

• Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette 

I used the ticked shades

•  NYX eye/eyebrow pencil in Cuivre (copper)
• Maybelline Colossal Kajal 
• Maybelline Colossal Volum' mascara
• Revlon Bronzer (don't know the name)
• Maybelline Colorsensational lipstick "Blushing Brunette"
