I Got Featured: The Beauty and the Cheap's Half a Page of Fame!

Lol! Was that title too lame? It was right? Yeah. WELL TOO BAD! Lol!

I am so excited yoooouuu guuuys! 

I've been in a total zombie stupor this month. I just sit at home and watch the X-Files, I haven't seen the sun  in a very long time! Probably getting rickets from the lack of Vitamin D but I digress!

I am seriously considering going out to the newsstand tomorrow and picking up the July issue of Cosmo!

BECAUSE I'M IN IT! Muahahaha!

By the way, who is the girl on the cover, Shraddha Kapoor? I am such a sad individual! I have no idea who all these Bollywood people are anymore! >.<

It is a pretty cover though... Anyway, I digress again! 

Last month I got an email from Vasudha for Cosmo and she asked me if I could do a nail art tutorial for them and I agreed! I decided I would do the simplest thing there was to do, no drawing, no nail art implements, nothing! So I got to work and this is what I came up with!

It was a lot of fun to do! And I hope you try it as well!

I'm going to go off topic again but do you see mah face there? It's like compressed! Lol! I don't look like me. ;A;

My grandma didn't recognise me! Lmao!

I'm still glad though, that I was actually featured in Cosmo. DAS COOL.

I was really unhappy because the day before I got the mail I had cut my nails, so they look all sad and stubby in the magazine. >.<

From now on I'm keeping my nails in talon like readiness! (Not really..)

Did you know, I actually did a second look too, for options? 

It obviously isn't as cute as the one they liked but I liked it because it looked like some kind of stone or tile. ^_^

My Attempt at Full Nail Water Decals

Remember last time, here I tried out KKCenterHk's water decal and I was all:

So, I decided to try the FULL water decals and now I'm like:

Ok, maybe that's an exaggeration. I actually liked using the decals but I was not patient enough to use them properly. I need to be more patient. :( 

The decals themselves were GORGEOUS! 

I'm the one who sucks! Lol! But I managed to save the manicure. *I think.* 

Let me show you, then you can tell me! ^_^

These are full nail water decals by ANE-NAIL. They're called 12 Pcs Flowerage/Flower Transfer Sticker & Files #5004 [ANE-5004] . I loved the blue and the pretty flower design!

I thought these would be just as easy to apply as the normal water decals but later realised, you need a little more skill and patience.

I was worried the size was too big for my nails but they fit pretty well! You use them the same way as the small stickers. Here are the instructions:

Here's what I did:

Apply base coat, cut out the design, soak, peel and apply! So what went wrong? Well, when I was removing the excess I ended up being hasty and not letting it dry well! Because of which it tore in various places. :( 

But here's how I managed to save it!

So, wherever I had issues with the decal tearing, I used the gold sequins I used in this post. 

Overall: 

I would give these decals a shot again! They look really good and last for 5 days with a top coat! Just need to be more careful next time!

Nail Art Challenge Final day: Copy Cat

I'm feeling really sad that the nail art challenge is ending today. :( I hope everyone had fun seeing what Puja, the other girls and I came up with for the challenge. You can check out their entries on Puja's blog.

Today's theme is Copycat, we had to copy an already present nail art. When I was doing the Kpop makeup tutorial on Ren, I saw one of the teasers for the song and I really liked his nails, so I looked them up and did that. :D

I'm sorry about the image quality. :( I don't have my usual camera and I'm having a hard time using this one. -__-

I used Maybelline Colorama "black", StreetWear "Silver Sparkles", China Glaze "Liquid Crystal" (for the stars), back crackle for the pinky and a black nail art pen. :)
Hope you like it! I'm going to miss making these for the challenge! Will have to think of my own design ideas now and I've become lazy! Heheh..

Nail Art Challenge Day 3: Yummy Sweet Things!

Omnomnom! After thinking about what to do, I'm hungry. -__- Here's my entry for Day 3 of Puja's challenge! I id cupcakes, stripes (they remind me of candy) and the multi glitter looks like glittery sprinkles. LOL!

I tried something with a bunch of erasers. :3

Nail Art Challenge Day 2

Argh! I'm so late!! Sorry Puja. :( This has to be one of my most hurried nail arts yet but I was out all day and got time to start at 11pm. So I had to hurry. ;A;

Puja at Cute Nails is having a great nail art challenge, you can go to her blog and see the other participants as well.. I still have to do that myself! Anyway, I decided my theme would be owls since the category was animals and since I started so late in the night, it seems appropriate. :P

I know it got messy, I feel so bad, I'm going to redo this some day and do it justice. Now I gotta sleep! G'night guys!

Instead of having just a Manicure Monday today, I thought I would take part in Puja's nail art challenge! :D She's come up with really fun things to do for this challenge and this is actually the first ever challenge I'm taking part in. So, this should be EPIC!

I'm not happy with it, the dots look messy. ;A; But I love the colours! :D

Manicure Monday: Happy Girly Funtime!

I really wanted to do my nails this weekend and I wanted to USE ALL THE THINGS! to do them. -__- I wanted to use the Miss Claire polish I bought last week, I wanted to use the fimo stickers.. Ended up chucking that idea. I wanted to use rhinestones.. EVERYTHING! But, and this is a huge but (LOL! Huge butt... Sorry.. *ahem*) but I still wanted to keep it simple. :)

So, I ended up with Happy-Girly-Funtime nails!

The original pink is more retina searing, I spared you guys. LOL!

What I used:

• Miss Claire polish E58 
• Maybelline Colorama Amarelo Sol 
• Faces nail stickers (the stars)
• Heart rhinestones
• toothpick and ballpoint pen (empty refill) for dotting and placing stones/stickers
• Sally Hansen Double Duty topcoat

Hope you liked my nails! I've changed them already though, LOL! I get bored too easily. -__- Anyway, I'm going to go make myself some dinner! Bye!

Manicure Monday (on Tuesday)

Hey guys, I know, I've been putting up a lot of nail stuff and not much else these days but not too worry, this is the only nail post for this week.. Ok, I lie there's going to be a matte top coat review soon as well. BUT then, I'm done, I promise! For this week... Don't kill me.. ^u^''

After my interviews and all were done I needed some serious shopatherapy so I checked out The New Beauty Centre in Khar, I've always gone to the Crawford one, truthfully,I didn't even know where the Khar one was. -__- but anyway, I picked some great stuff which I'll post in a haul post later. One of the things I picked up was NYX's new Advanced Salon Formula nail polish in 'Surf', I didn't find the swatches on the website but they're there on Cherry Culture.

I loved this colour, I've already worn it twice! It's a light aqua colour, with micro shimmers that don't really show up but add to the effect.

The flash makes it look too bright here.

I picked up the rhinestones from Beauty Center as well. :) And I did the white polka dots with my trusty nail art pen. ^^
I also wore Surf with OPI's You Don't Know Jacques, which I also found at NBC and I've wanted it for the LONGEST time! My sister looked at me like," You know that's just brown right?" as I cradled the only bottle of it there.

It is slightly brighter than this, I ran my hand through my wet hair and the purple transferred to the nail. :(

Inspired Nail Art

Hey guys, this is going to be a short post, I've been swimming in work and haven't slept in 2 days, I'm at that stage of sleepless-ness where I start believing I'm some kind of flying hippo or that the voices in my head want me to eat a bottle of ketchup.

Anyway, yesterday, in my free time I was going through an awesome and popular nail art blog called Cosmetic Cupcake and I found some great designs, so I decided to try one of them.
This is the original design here.

And this is what I did.

I realise mine isn't as finished, I didn't have the same tools and my cuticles look like I've been sifting sand everyday in the past week but I think I did good. :D

Here's what I used:

I used Elle 18 nail pops "26" on my thumb and ring finger. Colorama black polish on my index and pinky fingers. VOV knock-off white on my middle finger.
I used the center design from M36 Konad plate over the white, with Colorama Roxo Metalico put a few silver dots with NYX's nail art polish and put white dots with a nail art pen.
On my ring finger I used Jordana pop art striper polish in The Painter (pink sparkles) all over the nail.
And the last step I used Faces Sparkles polish over all my nails.

First Flakie Nail Polish! Review and Cosmetix.in Experience

So here's the thing, I'd been watching bloggers all over the world raving about flakie polishes and I adore the way they look! Problem is, I haven't seen one flakie polish in stores.. Not ONE! And if there are any out there, I swear, there's a conspiracy to keep them away from me.

I felt like my nail art stash is missing something. Like I'd been left out of a playground game by all the mean kids. *flashback sobs*

Yes, this is relevant.

Then a few days ago I was going through a shopping site I hadn't used before called Cosmetix.in, I decided to investigate and ended up in the nail polish category. There under NYX I found a polish called "Purple Ave." I don't trust site swatches so I googled it and (cue: Handel's Hallelujah) it was a FLAKIE!! *happy tears*

Obviously, I bought it. It was Rs. 210 after discount. Along with Maybelline's Hyper Curl mascara and a purple eye pencil. Guess how fast  shipping was....
Think: Speed of light... Ok, lets be fair.. Speed of sound, if it didn't work weekends! Yes, FAST!
I ordered on Sunday, it was shipped on Monday and got to me at 11am Tuesday.

Amazing!

Only there was a problem... Instead of sending me "39 Purple Ave," I was sent "139 Paradise." That's that guy down there... *SOBS*

Who knew a polish could make you cry?

So, I sent them an email telling them what had happened and I got an instant reply! How cool is that?? They told me that they would send me Purple Ave and that I could keep Paradise too! SCORE!! No, but seriously, how nice is that?  Because 23 hours later at 10:30 am, Tuesday, I got my Purple Ave! And here it is.

Happiness IS at the bottom of a bottle!

I don't know why it's called Purple, because the flakes are actually more blue-green. But I love the glowy hypnotic look of it. @-@
Apparently, there are more in this series, like Pink, Peach and Blue Ave. According to many reviews, the older versions of these were not very good and the flakes were too big and hard to get out of the bottle. BUT the new formula is awesome! Very concentrated flakes and fast drying! In fact, I've already ordered Pink Ave from Urbantouch! They also have Peach Ave. ^u^ (Cosmetix has it for cheaper though. -__-)

EDIT: I have noticed, that after a day, it actually starts being more purple than blue-green... Weird, eh?

... And hopefully the week! Seriously, I hate how much my nail polish chips. And I'm so OCD that the smallest chip makes me remove the whole thing and do it over. :/ *end rant*

So today's NOTD is *ding ding ding* leopard prints! Lol!
I love leopard print, it is so trashy/ kitschy yet wearable! So here is the look:

I broke my index finger's nail. I is a klutz! D: So I thought a really big french tip would make my nails look longer. ^_^

Heehee.. I'm pretty happy with it!

What I used: Sally Hansen double duty as base coat, Maybelline Colorama Dourado Metalico for the gold. Nail art pens in pink and black for spots and Konad top coat. :)
