Through Thick and Thin: Yanqina Liquid Eyeliner Review

Hello lovely people! :D Today's review is of a product that's really blown me away! I've never used a liner in pen form. *shoots self* I always go with the old school brush types, gel or felt tip ones. So when Lee Lee from UNIQSO sent me the Yanqina liquid liner to try, I was very curious!
The Yanqina liquid liner is a product of Japan (so you KNOW it's good!) It costs $5.90 on UNIQSO!
Oh yes, thanks UNIQSO for sending this to me along with the lenses I reviewed on Friday.

Price:
$5.90 (Rs. 318) for 2.5g. That's a good price I think! ^_^ Much cheaper than store brands!

Packaging:
I didn't get any outer box with the pen, the pen is a pretty black and red with cute graphics and a bit of Engrish on it. Lol! Nice and light, easy to carry in the bag and the lid fits snug, so no chance of accidents! The nib is perfect for thick or thin lines! :D

Damn focus! Nib! :)

36H? Hours? I don't think so. >.> Why would you want something to last that long anyway?!

Engrish! Lol! Waterproof Lash Eyeliner Pencil... I don't even..
Colour:
The colour is nice and deep! One swipe gets you almost opaque colour and I love that it has a almost shiny finish. Not quite matte, not quite shiny. Perfect! Swipe it twice and you have a great solid black!

Lasting Power:
This stuff lasts for ages even on my oily lids, although after a day of wearing it, it faded a bit but quite evenly! And absolutely no transfer on my lids. It is waterproof but not if you rub it after washing. :/ Just pat dry if you want it to last! Don't rub!

Swatches:
You can see how much thin/ thick control you get with this liner!

Overall:
Yanqina is an amazing liner! I would buy it again, if not for me, for my sister! She managed to use this with ease for someone who is just awkward with makeup, that is amazing! I only wish that it was a tad more long lasting but overall it does a great job! Awesome for detailed work and beginners. ^_^

Have you tried pen liners before? What was your experience?

3 Ways I use Coloured Eye Pencils

Ok, I've been a really lame-o and haven't posted in two days! I SORRY! *sobs* I have two posts today, so I hope that makes up for it!
Being an eye makeup junkie, I tend to hoard a lot of colour eye pencils. I.e. any colour but black.. The problem is, I barely ever use them as eye pencils, I usually end up using them as bases for eyeshadows and use my black pencil as liner.
So I decided recently that I would use them more as liners... But I nun wanna give up my black pencil! ;n;
So, like every Indian I "adjust" and follow the middle path. So, here is what I do:

Today's post was brought you by Bourjois Clubbing eye pencil in "Blue Remix." (Not really, I just used the colour in all my looks. :P)

1. Over the black winged liner:

This is a very simple look, I'm sure most of you use too! I just draw a thick blue winged liner and cover the lower half of it with black liner. I find that colour pencils unless they are very dark don't give the kind of definition black does. So this is a good way around it. :)

2. Giving the black dimension:

find that when I place the blue in the center of the lower and upper lash line, and use black at the sides, it gives it an amazing 3d effect! What do you think?

3. A touch of colour:

This method is really easy! I still managed to mess it up here though! -____- I use this when I'm in a hurry but still want some colour on my eyes. I outline my eyes in black and just on the inner corners put a touch of the coloured liner.

Hope you enjoyed my 3 ways to coloured liners! How do you like to wear coloured liners? Do you feel they don't define your eyes as much as black?

Speaking of eyes, I am now an affiliate with UNIQSO, a super nice circle lens store! I've always wanted to try circle lenses! Hopefully I will soon. :D
They're having a 20% off site wide for this month! And they also carry some Etude House eye makeup and  an interesting nail polish collection that is friendly to the skin and comes off without remover! *o*

Check out their site by clicking the banner below or in the side bar!.

What's In My Mail? L'oreal and NYX

Hi girls, I know I usually say guys but I don't think any actual guys read my blog so I'm sticking with, "Hi girls!" Anyway, it's Wednesday.. No man's land. *sigh* Not that I mind, I work at home. :P But still, something about Wednesday is a downer right? Luckily I got the package I was talking about in my haul post a few days ago to make my day a bit perkier. :D

Here's what I got:
L'Oreal Go 360 Clean & NYX Candy Glitter Liner
I got the Anti-Breakout type cleanser and NYX's Crystal candy Glitter Liner. Yay! I've been wanting to try these out for awhile now!

First Impressions:
L'Oreal 360 Clean-
OMG! The size of the bottle is BIG! Like really big! 178ml! That's like a medium sized shampoo bottle. :D I have never used a face wash in such a large quantity, so quantity wise, this is well worth the 339 INR I paid, the original cost is 400 btw!

And I love this scrubby thing.. *ahem* Scrublet...
"Hi, I'm a scrublet!" :D
I was most curious to try this product because of this little guy! I expected it to be flexible but not too soft but I was dead wrong, it is so soft! For a second I was just like.. "Okaaayy! How you get stuff off my face?" But I guess it does! The best way to explain it is... It feels like a cat's tongue. -__-

"I'm a softie!"
I like how it has a little nub you can hold. :D

Overall, on a first impression basis, I'm liking this cleanser, it smells a lot like the Garnier Pore Unclogging Facewash, which I love! I just hope it doesn't make me break out, I have a sneaking suspicion that my Garnier Blackhead Uprooting Scrub is! X(
Reviews for all these to come soon! :)

The NYX Candy Glitter Liner "Crystal"-
I've wanted a glitter liner ever since my DOL one clumped up on me.. I didn't even have it for so long! *sobs*
Crystal is a pretty pink/green/blue/purple holo on a white/ transparent base.. Vague yes? Glitter is hard to define! LOL! I want to get this other colours too, especially bright ones!

"I'm pretty! Oh, so pretty!~~"
This is what the liner is supposed to look like:

BUT LOOK AT WHAT THEY DID TO MY TASSLE!! *sobs some more*
"I feel nekkid. D:"

Why you cut it off?! ;A; So weird!

I hope you enjoyed my first impressions post. :) have you tried the L'Oreal 360 Go Clean or NYX Candy Glitter Liners before? What was your impression?

Edit: OMG! 94 followers! *does happy dance* Yikes! i still haven't gotten much ready for my 100 giveaway! FML! *gets to work*

Big Fat Haul from Last Week

So ermm, I went a little nuts last week, look at all the things I got! At least, more things to share with you right? Huh? Huh? Okay, yeah, I need an intervention. -__-

Went to Westside, as you know from the Chai Latte review. Got:
Maybelline Chai Latte quad, Makeup Remover, Vivid and Smooth Liner (grey)
and  Bourjois Clubbing eye pencil (Blue Remix )
The Chai Latte was another elusive Pokemon that I needed to catch, the remover I NEEDED!

Local Beauty Store:
Sunsilk Lusciously Thick and Long (that name is so wrong.. *Hauls mind out of gutter*)
Lux Magical Spell Body wash

ColorBar Velvet Matte Lipstick (Peach Crush), nailpolish (top coat), eyepencil sharpner,
Lotus Matte Gel spf 50 sunscreen
I never liked Sunsilk but I think they've reformulated their products, so I decided to try the pink one and I'm liking it a lot so far. :) My sister got me hooked to Lux bodywashes, I like that they don't leave a greasy film after you're done, great for summer. I have 3 now. >_<

ColorBar Velvet Matte Lipstick (Peach Crush) my first ColorBar lipstick. :D
I fell in love with the lipstick! :D

Online Shopping:
Stylecraze got in some amazing NYX stuff!

NYX girls polish: Enchanted Forest *pretty*

NYX round lippies in Stella and Femme.
I've been wanting Femme forever! Stella was a disappointment colourwise, it has silver glitters. :( Reviews will be up soon. :)

Majorbrands had a Mother's day sale, so I picked up 2 shadows that I was eyeing for awhile but they were too expensive, I have to stick to my blog name, you know! But I gave in.. Paid 150rs less though. :P

My first ever Inglot purchase. :D
AMC 60 (yellow), Matte 366 (coral)
Reviews for these two are coming up NOW! :D

That's it for last week, I have another order coming though, I ordered the L'oreal 360 Go Clean Face wash, It sounds promising, lets see... Until then: Insolvency. That is all.

What did you haul this week? Did you go overboard? Comment and tell! :D

Retro Makeup Tutorial Part 1: 50's Glam/ Pinup

Another tutorial? Yes! Recently I wrote an article for Stylecraze about this look and I thought I would share it here as well. I plan to do a look for every decade till the 80's. I hope you enjoy trying them out. This one is definitely one of my favourites.. Actually I can't decide which one i love the most! They're all so different and fun!

This look was majorly inspired by Dita Von Teese, I feel like she is one of the few people who would look completely out of place today, without the 50's look.

So here is the breakdown of the look:

Step1: Cover the entire eyelid area with a matte nude eyeshadow that is lighter than your skin tone.

Step 2: Using a dark brown matte shadow, contour the crease. Make sure the crease is defined well but the edges are soft and blended.

Step 3: Fill in the eyebrows with a dark brown shadow or eyebrow pencil. Make sure to exaggerate the arch.

Step 4: Under the arch of the eyebrow apply a pearly highlight colour, blend it down. You can also highlight the inner eye area.

Step 5: Create a dramatic cat eye liner, thin in the inner corner and very thick on the outer. You can also draw it down to the lower lashline if you wish. To make an easy cat eye follow my tutorial here.

Step 6: For an extra oomph use fake lashes. Or just curl your lashes and apply a thick coat of mascara.

Step 7: Sorry for the bad quality of this picture. For the lips, use a matte red shade, nothing says vintage like red lips. Make sure you make the cupid's bow rounded incase yours isn't. I know mine isn't! LOL!

What else? Make sure your foundation is flawless and skin is absolutely matte. Apply a pink blush to the apples of the cheeks, not the cheek bones and draw on an eyeliner beauty mark, skip this step if you already have one, like me!

This is what my final look was like:

Full face: I look so pissed here! LOL!

I even tried to make it look all vintage in Photoshop. :D

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Next week is the Mod Sixties! Be prepared. :D
You can try my matte moon manicure with the look or I just checked out my Reading list and Puja has done a great post on 50's nails! Check that out too and you can rock the entire look. Like a liege?
