My Feelunique Shopping Experience

Hello, I'm temporarily back from under my rock and thought I would give you guys a bit of a review!

Recently I had jumped on the Real Techniques bandwagon and bought myself their eye makeup brushes from Escentual, I wasn't impressed with them as eye makeup brushes, but loved them for applying concealer... More on that in a later post.
I decided to buy myself the Real Techniques face brushes but Escentual was all sold out, so I moved on to the next site which would be accepting of my medieval Paypal-less and credit card-less ways, Feelunique.

everything packed safely

Not only did Feelunique have a free shipping option, it also had three free samples with orders above 30 pounds and who doesn't love free samples?! Kekeke! >w<

Searching for products there was easy and the site was smooth, it was a big improvement from what the site used to be like before, i.e. not as modern and a bit difficult to surf through. I was especially glad that they accepted debit cards rather than only credit.

all the stuff I bought

Since my bill came up to only 20 GBP with the brush kit, I added a NUXE lipbalm, that I had heard a lot about from my friend Bharti at crazypoplock and a nude eye-pencil by Rimmel which I had been dying to get for a while now!

Nuxe lipbalm and Rimmel eye pencil

I added my free samples, paid and waited.
My order shipped the next day on 8th November and arrived on 7th December after a bit of a struggle at customs...
Yes I did pay customs *sigh* Rs.582. >.<

Samples!

I'm still quite happy with my purchase, they were fast with shipping and they had good prices, as you can see the packing was done very well too, with lots of packing peanuts and the thank you note was a nice touch!
Plus debit card acceptance FTW!
I will definitely be shopping at Feelunique again and definitely recommend it to you guys!

Thanks for reading!

Myntra.com- Clothes and Makeup! Haul and Review

You guys know me, I'm never shy of shopping online! Be it Indian or international, I'm always looking for new stores to throw my money at. ;)
Myntra has recently become one such site! I was quite surprised that I have never ordered from them before this! Considering they are India's largest shopping websites, have so many awards under their belt for being an amazing e-commerce website and have quite an aggressive ad campaign!
Oh well, better late than never, eh?

Just for the record, I was contacted by Myntra to do this review a long while ago but thanks to me being super busy and my computer dying on me out of the blue, I didn't get the chance. >.<
I'm glad they haven't freaked out at me yet! ;~;
*is very sorry*

When I logged into Myntra, the first thing I noticed was that the layout was very clean, young, fun and colourful! All the products were categorised really well, from brand, colour, price, gender and what kind of product it was. This made looking for products very easy!

Of course, I was skimming all the makeup products together, because that's the way I roll! Lol! But in the end found two products I liked, a lipstick and a nailpolish, into the bag they went!

Just for larks I thought I would get a top too, specially for summer! I'm a closet goth or something because most of my clothes are black, I found a mint green top and dropped that into the bag as well.
I completed filling in my details and then waited patiently for my package to arrive!
Luckily this took only 3 days, which is pretty fast! ^_^

Here's how the package came:

Packed in a plastic bag with the logo of Myntra on it. I have two because they shipped them in two packages.

Inside one was my pretty green top, from the brand Style Quotient, a bit darker than what I had expected but still a purdy colour! ^w^

I was worried about fitting because I'm usually an L or an XL and sometimes even XXL *grumbles* but since Myntra had provided the size specifications perfectly on the site, it fit like a dream!

The little box, which is really pretty by the way had the makeup of course! It was wrapped up tight with bubble wrap!

Turns out, inside the box was a plastic box, separating and protecting both products! A very nice touch right?

The lipstick is Maybelline's SuperStay "Stay with me Coral", it's now OOS on there though. :( And the nail polish is Colorbar's "Riot Red" (love that name!)

I'm really happy with Myntra's service, the delivery was fast and sizing was perfect! I would like them to add more makeup products, rather more colour options to each makeup product! I would also have liked a shipping free option for an amount less than Rs.999.
But overall, it was a great experience shopping with them and you can find some amazing clothes and accessories there! I would definitely recommend them!

So what do you think about my haul?
Have you shopped from Myntra before? What did you get? I would love to know!
Thanks for reading!

I was provided with a voucher by the company to shop with them. My opinion is honest and my own.

Brigette's Boutique Makeup Brushes Review

Hello valued readers! How is everyone doing?
I got back my recent photo shoot pictures recently and boy, do I love them! You can check them out on my Facebook page.

Remember once upon a time, before I became a makeup artist, I barely ever used brushes for makeup? Yeah, well now it's different. -__-
Now I have at least 40-50 brushes in my makeup kit and even they feel like a very small amount. Lol!

These two brushes sent to my by Brigette's Boutique have also become a prominent feature in my makeup!
Brigette's Boutique is a discount cosmetic retailer. The store was started in 2003 and sells makeup products and tools. By obtaining most products in bulk form they can sell them at discount rates. So it is a great place to find that MAC lipstick they don't make anymore. *w*
So, here's a review of both brushes with a little bit about how I use them. ^_^

The brushes were sent really well packed, with bubble wrap and foam. Brigette's Boutique also added two samples of their own product line called Annika Maya, a glitter and an eyeshadow in the package along with their card.

The two brushes are:
&

The Flat Top Synthetic Long Handle Kabuki Brush:
 Price:
$9.95 (Approx. Rs.550)

This flat top kabuki brush is like a normal kabuki brush except that it has quite a long handle!
The brush is amazingly soft, in fact my sister who loves to play with my brushes, fiddled with its bristles for hours till I asked her to stop, to which she replied that she had bonded with it and named it "Fluffy." Lol!

Jokes aside, this brush is really soft as velvet, especially since the fibers are synthetic. The top is well cut and doesn't have any stray hairs poking out. Even on the face, the brush is gentle, unlike some of my powder brushes that feel soft on the hand but prickle on the face.

Uses:
This flat top brush is great for all sorts of uses!
- Blending out foundation with it is a dream.
-Works like a charm for buffing out the edges of your contouring or blush.
-Removing/ buffing out excess foundation is easy. You get a poreless, airbrushed look.
-Applying powders, though I haven't used it much for that.

I loved using this brush for blending, I would apply my foundation over my face with a concealer brush and swirl this brush through. I did however swirl it over my face after moisturising so that it sucks up some of the moisturiser and I waste less foundation. ^_^

Cleaning:
Cleaning this brush was very easy, the product let the fibers quite easily but it took forever and a day to dry! Okay, it was almost a day. That's pretty long though, so if you need to use the brush soon after, maybe spot cleaning regularly and an occasional deep clean is a better option.
This brush shed a couple of hairs the first time I washed it but has behaved well after that. No shedding and no losing shape! Woohoo!
Overall a great multipurpose brush and at a very affordable price!

The Duo Fibre Brush:
Aka: Stippling brush/ Skunk brush (gotta love that name! Lol!)

Price:
$6.50 (Approx Rs. 350)

This duo fibre brush isn't the best out there but it does what its supposed to and the price is right! I don't think I've seen a stippling brush in this kind of price range in India. Of course it doesn't compare to MAC's 187 which is much fuller and thicker but it's a fraction of the price and gets the job done!

The white fibers (the ones that you actually touch to your face) are lovely and soft, but they aren't very dense so you need a little patience working in small areas with this brush.

Uses:
-Applying foundation for an airbrushed finish.
-Applying cream blushes or highlighters to make them look diffused and give a soft finish.
-Applying pigmented powder blushes so that you don't overdo them.

How to Use:
I've heard people complain about stippling brushes, most problems arise from not using it right.
The right way to use a stippling brush is by using it at a right angle to the face and using barely any pressure.

Only the tips of the white bristles should have product on them and then you stipple the product.
After that, using the same brush or even the flat top kabuki brush, swirl, to blend.
Again, make sure you use only the white hairs, the black hairs should barely move. ^_^
Using it like a normal brush will give you a streaky finish.

RIGHT

WRONG

Cleaning:
Cleaning this brush was much more tedious than the flat top kabuki. It didn't shed too much but a lot of black dye bled out from the black hairs. After 5 washes, the bleeding has finally stopped!
It did retain its shape well though!

Overall, a very useful brush but has problem when you clean it. But for the price, who could complain?

I hope you liked this review! You can try out Brigette's Boutique for all kinds of makeup products and tools, from MAC to Revlon and they even have their own brand of cosmetics called Annika Maya that I will be reviewing soon!

Thanks for reading!

Products sent for review. My opinion is honest and my own.

Why I am always broke: Urbantouch.com review

Ah, yes... Online shopping. Easy, fun, and highly addictive! Seriously, I need to get away from it. I'm turning into a couch potato just sitting at home and surfing the net for things I can buy OR can't buy... If I can't then I just bookmark them and stare till an optic fibre cable with a bunch of binary code that becomes my reality! I need to go outside, into the sun and do stuff in person...
Wait, I'm going outside? Will need sunscreen, must order now!

Ok, I'm back... I got a bit distracted there, so anyway as I was saying online shopping has taken over my life and one of the reasons I got into it is Urbantouch. Just yesterday I was a shopping online noob and suddenly I'm ordering everything from shoes to lens solution online! All because of one urbantouch.com.

They made everything SO easy! At first I didn't want to use my card, just in case the site is fake, no biggie, CASH ON DELIVERY!! And they have everything you need, I hardly go to make up stores anymore. And shipping is fast, not to mention free if you buy stuff worth >300Rs. They used to have a free gift for every 500 spent but sadly not anymore.. Why urbantouch? WHAIII? Bring it back!! They had nice gifts too... I've gotten foot butter, face washes, a nail file lol! It isn't great stuff but fun to get.

One thing I really like about them is, the packing! I love the boxes and I keep them to store various make up, they're a classy black and very sturdy.

Warning: Fugly photos from cell camera, actual camera is temporarily deceased.

Tightly packed!

The logo.. As a designer, me no likey.

I've ordered from them three times so far. Once for a Konad stamping set, whose plate I have already lost. T-T, nailpolishes, Sally Hansen topcoat etc. Recently I bought a foundation, concealer and the Colossal Kajal because mine had gotten over.

Styrofoam-ed and bubble-wrapped
More wrapping!
I don't think I've ever ordered from another site that packs parcels so well! They're very carefully and tightly packed.

Diana of London Protouch concealer, The Colossal Kajal, Lotus Pure Radiance Matte Glow Foundation

The swatches on the site for *most* products are pretty accurate. The products I got match perfectly! The customer care is pretty good but can be weird. The first time my order was late and I mailed them a few times about it, although I would get the replies lightning fast, it would always be the same, "inconvenience regretted" type ones.

Funny thing is, when I got the package I mailed them about how great the packing was and still got an incovenience regretted mail! Lol!
All in all, I really recommend ordering from urbantouch, it is an AMAZING site with many many many options, you'll love it! :D

Oh, btw I bought the strawberry body butter from TBS yesterday! The BIG pack, love it! :D
Nom nom nom! I could eat this stuff!

My new HURR!!! You like? No like? Tell me! Psst.. Bad picture lol!
My sister calls me Nicki Minaj now. -___-
This one I like!

Two packages in one one day

Hey guys, I'm sorry I haven't been updating these past few days, I've been busy with some new work that has come my way. Hopefully this post will make up for it. :)
Yesterday I got two packages that I had ordered and I went out too, so I bought some make-up then. My two packages were from Porkdaisy.com and lensstreet.com!

Lensstreet:

I got a big bottle of Biotrue lens solution and cute hippo and pig lens cases from them. The shipping was super fast! There was a problem initially with my phone number, I had given them the wrong one so they couldn't contact me. Due to that, my order was on hold for 2 days, then I called them to inquire, made the corrections and my order was on its way! Shipping was super fast! It was at my door the next afternoon. :D

Porkdaisy:
I was so excited about the porkdaisy package! It was my first time buying from them and I think I'll be getting all my NYX stuff from there from now on. Even with S&H, my order came out cheaper than buying it in stores here! I bought 2 matte lip creams and a round lipstick and the cost with shipping was only Rs.900! To buy one lip cream in a store or Indian shopping site, would cost me Rs.600 for just one! You can do the math! D: Stupid taxes...
It took around 15-20 days to get here and they had shipped it out the next day of ordering! Very prompt! :D They also have brands like L.A. colors, Cherimoya and Kleancolor that I want to try later. I totally recommend this site, it is truly value for money!

Very well packed, with a FRAGILE sticker
Even the packing inside was very good, the cosmetics were wrapped in foam and bubblewrap

Soft matte Lip creams and Round Lipstick
Round Lipstick in 599 "Fire"

The round lipstick in "Fire" is such an amazing colour, it's a pink toned red, really bright but muted at the same time.. If that made sense. :/

Soft matte lip creams in Addis Ababa and Antwerp

I LOVE both these colours so much! They feel really velvelty on the lips and the colour pay-off is great. Compared to the VOV knock-offs, these are not at all different. The smell, packaging and feel is the same but these dry really fast and the VOV ones take 10 minutes or so, by that time you've already eaten/ drunk something to wash the colour off. So that sucks ass about the VOV.

Otherwise you can't ell the diff at all... See:
Spot the copy cats!
See how similar VOV has tried to make these! Lol! I still love the "Monte Carlo" shade though, the "Stockholm/ Tokyo" makes me look dead.

The two above are the NYX, the bottom two are VOV, you can see the VOV is glossy compared to NYX
I'm really loving online shopping! I have another order from Urbantouch on its way.. Don't be surprised if I stop blogging, it would probably be because I pawned my computer to shop... Actually that defeats the purpose doesn't it?
